  • Patent number: 5426175
Abstract: Dicarbonyl compounds and alkylene oxides are used to deactivate a transition metal/organometal catalyst in polymerization of at least one monomer to form a 1-olefin polymer. The polymer is deashed with a lower alcohol optionally followed by a wash with the starting monomer or n-heptane.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 24, 1993
Date of Patent: June 20, 1995
    Assignee: Phillips Petroleum Company
Inventors: Dirk M. Sutherlin, Stephen R. Jardot
  • Patent number: 5328968
Abstract: An arylene sulfide polymer having derivatized end-groups and a process for preparing derivatized arylene sulfide polymer comprising contacting at an elevated temperature, an arylene sulfide polymer, a compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein R' is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl radical having 1 to about 17 carbon atoms, an aryl radical having 6 to about 16 carbon atoms, and combinations thereof and X is selected from the group consisting of chlorine and bromine, and a solvent which is stable in the presence of the compound and is capable of dissolving the arylene sulfide polymer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 13, 1992
Date of Patent: July 12, 1994
    Assignee: Phillips Petroleum Company
    Inventor: Dirk M. Sutherlin
  • Patent number: 5272195
Abstract: Compositions including polymers, copolymers and blends of stabilized stereoregular polymers of branched higher alpha-olefins, grafting compounds, free radical generators, glass and amino-functional silanes are provided as well as methods for making these compounds and articles thereof. These may also contain polyurethane film formers.
