    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for operating a radar sensor system with a number of adjacent individual sensors (3, 4, 5, 6), extensively synchronized with one another, for determining the position of a target object (15) are proposed. In one measurement cycle, the transit time of the radar signal emitted from one individual sensor and reflected by the target object to this individual sensor (3, 4, 5, 6) (direct echo (13, 14)) and to a different individual sensor (3, 4, 5, 6) (cross echo (16)) is evaluated. From the evaluation of the direct and cross echoes (13, 14, 16), at least the position of the target object (15) is determined, and a detection quality signal (Q) is ascertained, and once a predetermined amount of the detection quality signal (Q) is reached for a target object (15), a calibration is performed.

    Abstract: A method and device for controlled straightening and cooling of a wide metal strip, especially a steel strip (1) or sheet metal, running out of a hot rolled strip rolling mill, using pinching rollers (5) arranged in the moving direction of the strip (2) behind vertical double rollers (3,4), said pinching rollers producing a tensile stress (6) acting in a longitudinal direction. According to the invention, the range of use of conventional sheet metal cooling systems can be extended to obtain a more even surface of said steel strip (1) with an increased cooling effect. To this end, the toothed ring of the input shaft (1) has two longitudinal sections (1a, 1b) of different diameters while having constant tooth spacing throughout. The tooth length in both sections (1a, 1b) is dimensioned in such a way that in neutral position, the input shaft (1) can rotate while the toothed wheel (3a) remains stationary but is prevented from rotating while the input shaft (1) remains stationary.

    Abstract: An angle sensor with a fixed stator and a rotor rotating about an axis of rotation in which the stator has optical sensor elements being aligned in a plane vertical to the axis of rotation on a circular line in the perimeter direction concentric to the axis of rotation and being distributed across a range of perimeter angle. The sensor sensor elements cooperate with the rotor coding. The angle sensor solves the technical problem of ensuring that mechanical tolerances will not adversely impact operation of the sensor. This problem is solved in that the longitudinal axes of the sensor elements are not aligned radial to the circle line on which these units are positioned in the perimeter direction, but rather are aligned parallel to each other.

    Abstract: The invention is directed to an electrochemical measuring cell for detecting gaseous components with an electrolyte which is disposed between a counter electrode and a measuring electrode provided with gas permeable pores. The pores are configured as channels partially or completely filled with the electrolyte and these channels have a diameter which does not exceed 10 micrometers with a channel length of up to 300 micrometers and a web thickness of not more than 5 micrometers. With this configuration, drift and memory effects are suppressed and the measuring sensitivity is increased and, on the other hand, the response time and the residual current are reduced. When the measuring cell is used as a dosimeter, the counter electrode and the measuring electrode are decoupled with respect to a mass transport in the electrolyte.
