A location sharing platform determines at least one location point associated with at least one device and at least one algorithm for determining at least one predicted route of the at least one device based, at least in part, on the at least one location point. The location sharing platform then causes, at least in part, a transmission of the at least one location point and the at least one algorithm to at least one other device for generating location tracking information.

Abstract: An approach for determining and providing location-based facility resource availability information, such as parking space availability at a parking facility, independent of any supporting infrastructure installed at the resource facilities, is provided. Flow data of users entering and exiting the at least one location-based resource is received. Availability of space at the at least one location-based resource is determined based at least in part on the flow data. Resource availability data based at least in part on the availability of space at the at least one location-based resource is provided to a user.
