  • Publication number: 20080172723
Abstract: A method of collecting data in a lock system. The method includes providing each user with a credential that contains user information, presenting the credential at an off-line access point, and reading the user information from the credential. The method also includes analyzing the user information at the first off-line access point to determine if access to the first off-line access point should be allowed, sending event data from the off-line access point to the credential, and selectively overwriting existing event data and storing the sent event data on the credential. The invention further includes presenting the credential at an on-line access point and reading the user data and reading the event data.

  • Publication number: 20080111659
Abstract: An access control system is for at least first and second doors each having a lock adjustable between locked and unlocked states. A key has a code including first and second segments. A first controller coupled with the first door lock has a stored value and is configured to receive the key code and to compare at least the code first segment with the stored value, and unlocks the first lock when the code first segment corresponds with the stored value. A second controller coupled with the second door lock has a stored value and is configured to receive the key code and to compare at least the second code segment with the second stored value, and unlocks the second lock when either the code second segment corresponds with the second stored value or both code segments correspond with separate portions of the second value.

  • Publication number: 20050128050
Abstract: A door security system for controlling access through a door of a secured area by controlling a lock status of an associated locking unit of the door. The system includes an operator that operates the locking unit of the door, a key pad, a magnetic card reader, and a contact activatable data port. A data processor is responsive to the magnetic card reader, the data port, and the keypad for controlling the operator. Each of the keypad, the magnetic card reader, and the contact activatable data port can manipulate the lock status of the locking unit of the door. The data processor further comprises link means for requiring multiple entries for implementing the lock status of the door.

  • Patent number: 6876293
Abstract: An electronic door security system employs an input console having three readers for enhanced security. A microprocessor processes inputs applied at each of the readers to selectively permit access through a secured door. Application of an input to any of the readers transforms the controller from a sleep mode to an active mode.

  • Patent number: 4731521
Abstract: A scent-emitting electric cigar lighter having an igniting unit with a plug body containing an electric heating element at its inner end, a metal conductor stud connected to the heating element in heat-exchanging relation therewith and extending forwardly through the plug body, and a heat transfer flange at the forward end of the stud. A slab of scent-emitting material, adapted to release aromas in response to heating, is carried in a removable cartridge which is disposed adjacent the heat-transfer flange. Mounted at the front of the plug body is a knob which receives the cartridge and scent-emitting slab.

  • Patent number: 4713733
Abstract: A cigar lighter assemblage for mounting through an opening of a vehicle dashboard from the front thereof, including a tubular socket having an opening for receiving an ignitor plug, a light-conducting bushing surrounding the socket and constituting a bezel therefor, and a lamp-holder carried by the bushing. There are cooperable structures on the bushing and holder for slidably mounting the latter on the bushing, and enabling it to move between an extended position and a retracted position. The lamp holder has a projection for engagement with the panel, which functions to shift the holder from its extended position to its retracted position as the bushing is being frontally inserted in the panel. An especially simple arrangement results, characterized by both manufacturing economy and ease of assembly.

  • Patent number: 4713017
Abstract: An electrical power receptacle having a tubular plastic housing with a transverse end wall at one end, and a tubular metal well which is snap fitted in the housing by means of an apertured end wall adjacent the housing end wall, cooperating with hooks in the housing. Two terminals mounted on the housing end wall project for connection to a source of power. One of the terminals engages the shell and the other terminates in an internal contact member. The housing has integral spaced-apart stand-off mounting legs, and a pivotally mounted cover plate which, when closed, seals the housing and interior contacts thereof.
