  • Patent number: 4951182
Abstract: A modular marina power pedestal and light pedestal enclosure is fabricated from a pair of opposing flanged plastic sidepieces that are sized to accept both lamp enclosures as well as electrical power centers. A wide variety of customer options that include power receptacles, telephone connectors, metering facilities and water hook-up are available with slight modification. Existing lamp enclosures and power centers are received within the enclosure without modification.

  • Patent number: 4851963
Abstract: A weather-tight air conditioning disconnect switch has both plastic and metal enclosure components for low cost assembly. The exterior components include a metal case and cover whereas the interior non-electrical components are plastic-molded. One such molded plastic dead-front shields the electrical terminals within the enclosure and contains instruction and caution indicia integrally-formed on the exterior surface during the plastic molding forming process. ON - OFF indication of the switch is achieved by the orientation of the switch handle with the switch handle receiver.

  • Patent number: 4712157
Abstract: A molded plastic load center enclosure allows the circuit breakers contained therein to be compactly aligned on one side of the enclosure. Depressions formed within the bottom of the interior surface of the enclosure produce bosses extending from the exterior surface thereof, which provide a cooling air circulatory space between the enclosure and a support wall. Metal disks inserted within the depressions provide increased thermal capacity to the enclosure interior while allowing the use of explosive charge-driven nails to attach the enclosure to the support wall without damaging the plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4512199
Abstract: A transducer for establishing an output voltage proportional to an input fluid pressure supplied thereto. The transducer has a resistor with a voltage selector movable in electrical contacting engagement therewith to establish the output voltage. A piston actuates the voltage selector to its electrical contacting engagement with the resistor to establish the output voltage in response to the input fluid pressure acting on a diaphragm arranged in driving engagement with the piston.

  • Patent number: 4464828
Abstract: A method of assembling a control device. The control device has a housing, a first contact, a switch having a resilient switch blade with a second contact thereon, a pair of supports for the first contact and the switch and including at least one yieldable section, respectively, and an actuator for the switch to make and break the first and second contacts. In this method, the supports and the actuator are mounted with the pg,2 housing, and the second contact on the switch blade is engaged with the first contact. The at least one yieldable section of one of the supports is deformed, the first contact is thereby located in an adjusted position defining the magnitude of a force required to break the first and second contacts when the switch is actuated by the actuator.

  • Patent number: 4410776
Abstract: A control device has a housing with a chamber therein, and a pair of means is mounted to the housing within the chamber for supporting a first contact and a switch having a resilient switch blade with a second contact engaged with the first contact. The supporting means include at least one deformable section, and a pair of adjusting means are adjustably movable in the housing to affect the deformations of the at least one deformable sections of the supporting means thereby to locate the first contact in an adjusted position defining a force required to break the first and second contacts upon actuation of the switch and to bias the switch blade toward another adjusted position defining another force required to remake the first and second contacts upon the actuation of the switch.

  • Patent number: 4346272
Abstract: A control device for an electrical circuit has switch means adapted for movement between circuit making and breaking positions including means for stiffening the switch means having a force receiving end spaced therefrom. Fulcrum means is disposed for pivoting engagement with the switch means. Means is operable for applying a control force onto the force receiving end of the stiffening means so as to yield the switch means in its circuit making position into pivotal engagement with the fulcrum means and thereafter pivotally move a part of the switch means about the fulcrum means toward the circuit breaking position.A method of operating a control device is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4084202
Abstract: A method of protecting auxiliary winding means and main winding means in a winding circuit of a dynamoelectric machine in the event of a current overload. In this method, means is actuated in response to a preselected thermal condition accompanying the current overload for interrupting the winding circuit. Heat is transmitted from means for controlling starting of the dynamoelectric machine to the interrupting means for generally maintaining the winding circuit effectively interrupted for at least a predetermined period, and the starting controlling means is operable generally in response to current flow therethrough to increase its resistance generally as a function of its temperature for impeding the current flow therethrough to the auxiliary winding means at a preselected speed of the dynamoelectric machine.A combination starter-protector device, a method of operating a dynamoelectric machine, and a circuit are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4037316
Abstract: A method of assembling a temperature responsive resistance member within a pair of separable housings. This method includes the steps of: mounting the temperature responsive resistance member in both supporting engagement and electrical contacting engagement between a pair of electrical terminals; and joining the separable housings against displacement so that the temperature responsive resistance member in both the supporting engagement and the electrical contacting engagement with the terminals is disposed within the housings in predetermined spaced relation therewith with portions of the terminals extending exteriorly of the housings.
