  • Patent number: 8762386
Abstract: Content leaving a local network can be captured and indexed so that queries can be performed on the captured data. In one embodiment, the present invention comprises an apparatus that connects to a network. In one embodiment, this apparatus includes a network interface module to connect the apparatus to a network, a packet capture module to intercept packets being transmitted on the network, an object assembly module to reconstruct objects being transmitted on the network from the intercepted packets, an object classification module to determine the content in the reconstructed objects, and an object store module to store the objects. This apparatus can also have a user interface to enable a user to search objects stored in the object store module.

  • Patent number: 5205318
Abstract: Recirculation hot water system including a fluid delivery system used to supply potable water throughout a home or other facility, having a hot water supply pipe, a cold water supply/return pipe, a hot water heater, a pump, a manifold, a control system, a hot water and cold water faucet or valve, and a demand site (typically a sink or wash basin). The manifold further includes a thermostatic actuator and a check valve. The control means further includes a sending unit, installed in close proximity to the demand site, and a receiving unit, installed in close proximity to the heater. Command signals are transferred, from the sending unit to the receiving unit, via modulated signals that pass through the AC power lines that are used to distribute power throughout the home or facility.

  • Patent number: 5103721
Abstract: A household recycling appliance for recycling aluminum cans. The appliance has a housing containing a vertical crushing chamber with a frontal opening into which an empty aluminum can is to be inserted. The bottom plate of the crushing chamber, serving as a plunger or piston, is advanced upwardly by a motor and bell crank assembly to crush the can against the fixed top plate. As the bottom plate recedes, a spring-operated lever ejects the crushed can rearwardly via a conduit into a can storage receptacle which is sized to hold a selective number of crushed cans. Any residual fluid draining from the crushed can is collected in a fluid storage receptacle located below the can storage receptacle. The can and fluid storage receptacles are removable for transferring the crushed cans and disposing of the fluids.
