  • Patent number: 8737721
Abstract: A system and a method that facilitates generating a model from a 3-dimensional (3D) object assembled from 2-dimensional (2D) content are described. A content aggregator can construct a 3D object from a collection of two or more 2D images each depicting a real entity in a physical real world, wherein the 3D object is constructed by combining the two or more 2D images based upon a respective image perspective. A 3D virtual environment can allow exploration of the 3D object. A model component can extrapolate a true 3D geometric model from the 3D object, wherein the true 3D geometric model is generated to include scaling in proportion to a size within the physical real world.

  • Patent number: 8730174
Abstract: A method and device for receiving input are provided. The method involves determining an orientation of a touchscreen. When the orientation of the touchscreen is portrait, the method involves rendering at least one input element organized according to a first set of placement rules. When the orientation of the touchscreen is landscape, the method involves rendering the at least one input element organized according to a second set of placement rules. The second set of placement rules causes each of the at least one input element to be rendered proximate to one of first and second opposite edges of the touchscreen. The device includes a processor and a touchscreen configured to carry out the method.

  • Patent number: 8726198
Abstract: A method includes entering, by a portable electronic device, a low-power condition after displaying an application image on a display. No information is displayed on the display during the low-power condition. While in the low-power condition, an input is detected. In response to detecting the input, a cover image is displayed. The application image is progressively revealed along with movement of a gesture while reducing display of the cover image, wherein the gesture controls a size of an area where the application image is displayed.

  • Patent number: 8682736
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates communicating intent-related data to a user. A display engine can enable exploration of a portion of image data during a browsing session. An intent component can receive a portion of data related to the browsing session, wherein the portion of data is at least one of a collection of browsing history or a portion of data displayed during a browsing session. The intent component can further evaluate the portion of data to ascertain a combined intent of a user. A selective ad component can infer an incompleteness of the combined intent to trigger a pre-qualification for an offer related to at least one of an item or service that fulfills the incompleteness.

  • Publication number: 20130222269
Abstract: A control circuit provides a list of contacts on a touch-screen display and then, in response to detecting a touch-based selection of a particular contact, responsively depicts a plurality of contact addresses as correspond to that particular contact. A most frequently utilized contact address is placed at a location on the touch-screen display that corresponds to the touch-based selection of the particular contact. So configured, the user need likely not move their touching finger to locate the desired contact address. The most frequently utilized contact address can comprise a most frequently called telephone number since any new telephone number was last added to the plurality of telephone numbers for this particular contact.
