  • Patent number: 5119346
Abstract: A portable timing and alarm apparatus for alerting a child that a pre-set interval of time for playing or for observing a pre-arranged response has expired. An audible alarm signals the wearer of the apparatus that the time interval has expired. The length of the time interval is adjustable by use of a key to prevent tampering by the child. In one embodiment, the key is engaged by inserting the apparatus into a module which simultaneously allows two spaced enabling pins to engage mating switches on the apparatus that, when triggered, allow time setting adjustment thereof.

  • Patent number: 5091611
Abstract: A switch for a portable light source such as a flashlight which has a housing for carrying one or more batteries and for supporting a lamp bulb. The switch includes a switch body securable to the housing and an actuator that is axially moveable relative to the switch body for electrically coupling and uncoupling an electrode of the batteries to one of the terminals of the lamp bulb to switch the lamp bulb on and off. The actuator is also rotatably moveable relative to the switch body to prevent axial movement of the actuator and thereby lock the flashlight in the on state.

  • Patent number: 5055984
Abstract: A solar rechargeable light has a lamp for illuminating a selected area such as the ground or a wall. A base is adapted to support the lamp in a fixed position to illuminate the selected area. An electrical storage device and power supply is electrically coupled to the lamp. A solar panel is electrically coupled to the electrical storage device for charging the storage device when the solar panel is exposed to light, wherein current from the storage device energizes the lamp, and wherein the solar panel is moveable relative to the base so that the orientation of the solar panel is substantially independent of an orientation of the lamp relative to the selected area.
