  • Patent number: 9350257
Abstract: A power supply apparatus and a driving method thereof are disclosed. The power supply apparatus includes a first converter and a second converter. The first converter is operated to acquire a first gain when an input voltage is included in a first range or a second range that is lower than a first range and outputs a first output voltage and a second output voltage by converting the input voltage. In addition, the second converter is operated when the input voltage is included in the first range and outputs a third output voltage by converting the second output voltage.

    Assignee: Fairchild Korea Semiconductor LTD
Inventors: Gwanbon Koo, Dooyong Jung, Jintae Kim, Taesung Kim, Youngbae Park, Kyungseop Kim, Donghye Cho
  • Patent number: 9030847
Abstract: An inverter and driving method of the inverter are disclosed. The inverter includes an active clamp forward (ACF) converter and a flyback converter. One of a forwarding operation of delivering current from a primary side to a secondary side by using the ACF converter and a backwarding operation of delivering current from the secondary side to the primary side by using the flyback converter is selected to generate a rectified AC.

  • Patent number: 7518895
Abstract: In one embodiment, a power converter system includes a first input terminal and a second input terminal operable to connect to an alternating current (AC) power source, and an output terminal at which an output voltage can be provided to a load. A first inductor and a first diode are connected in series between the first input terminal and the output terminal. A second inductor and a second diode are connected in series between the second input terminal and the output terminal. A first switch is connected to the first inductor and the first diode, and a second switch is connected to the second inductor and the second diode. The first switch and the second switch alternately function as a boost switch and a synchronous rectifier for charging and discharging the first and second inductors during operation of the power converter system.
