  • Publication number: 20250027298
Abstract: A retention mechanism may have a pin inserted into a retainer pin opening in the adapter. The retention mechanism may also have a spring clip inserted into the tip through a first end of a transverse hole in the tip, and a retainer inserted through a second end of the transverse hole. The retainer may have a retainer body extending from a first axial end to a second axial end. The retainer may have at least one tab extending radially from the retainer body at the first axial end. The at least one tab may engage with a female thread in the transverse hole. The retainer may have at least one detent cutout disposed on an outer surface of the retainer body for receiving a portion of the spring clip. The retainer may also have an axial cavity at the second axial end for receiving one end of the pin.

  • Publication number: 20250027297
Abstract: A retention mechanism for connecting a tip to an adapter may have a main retainer, a center pin, and a center pin clip attachable to the center pin. The main retainer may have a retainer body, a non-circular thru hole extending along a central axis, and a male thread around an outer surface of the main retainer. The male thread may engage a female thread in a transverse thru hole in the tip. The center pin may have a profile matching that of the non-circular thru hole of the main retainer. The non-circular thru hole of the main retainer may align with a non-circular blind hole in the adapter when in its fully engaged position. The center pin may be inserted into the non-circular thru hole of the main retainer with a distal end of the center pin positioned in the non-circular blind hole in the adapter.

  • Publication number: 20250027296
Abstract: A ground engaging tip assembly includes a ground engaging tip, an adapter, and a retention mechanism. The ground engaging tip includes an inner surface extending inward from a rear edge defining a nose cavity within the ground engaging tip. The nose cavity includes a front inner surface, top inner surface, bottom inner surface, and oppositely disposed side inner surfaces. The top inner surface includes a front portion proximate the front inner surface comprising a front central surface connecting two opposing front side-sloping surfaces and a rear portion proximate the rear edge comprising a rear central surface connecting two opposing rear side-sloping surfaces. The bottom includes a tapered bottom channel. The adapter includes a nose portion configured to be inserted into the nose cavity of the ground engaging tip. The retention mechanism is configured to secure the ground engaging tip to the adapter.

  • Publication number: 20250027299
Abstract: A retention mechanism for connecting a ground engaging tip and an adapter has a spring, a retainer block configured for insertion into a cutout in the adapter, and a retainer. The retainer block has a cavity having an internal thread. The retainer block also has an outer surface defining a contact surface, a back surface opposite the contact surface, and a plurality of angled surfaces between the contact surface and the back surface. Further, the retainer block has a slot passing through the back surface and configured to receive the spring. The retainer is configured for insertion in in the cavity of the retainer block. The retainer has a threaded outer surface configured to engage with the internal thread of the retainer block, a detent cutout configured to receive a portion of the spring, and a chamfered bottom surface configured to engage with and deflect the portion of the spring.
