  • Publication number: 20230087665
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an open radio access network (O-RAN) distributed unit (O-DU) may generate, at an O-DU application that executes on the O-DU, a first message that does not make use of an O-DU accelerator of the O-DU that is in-line with the O-DU application. The O-DU may transmit, from the O-DU application to an O-RAN radio unit (O-RU), the first message via a passthrough of the O-DU accelerator, wherein the first message does not make use of the O-DU accelerator based at least in part on a payload of the first message being transferred unchanged by the O-DU accelerator to the O-RU. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 10779277
Abstract: Described herein are aspects related to assigning primary channels in wireless communications. An amount of available bandwidth within a radio frequency band can be determined for shared access by a plurality of operators, where each operator operates a radio access network having one of a plurality of radio communication compatibility types, and where each radio communication compatibility type defines a set of one or more compatible radio access technologies. The amount of available bandwidth can be allocated into radio compatibility type-specific bandwidth partitions for each radio communication compatibility type based on a number of the plurality of radio communication compatibility types and a number of the plurality of operators corresponding to each radio communication compatibility type. A primary channel can be assigned within at least one of the radio compatibility type-specific bandwidth partitions to at least one operator of the number of the plurality of operators.

  • Publication number: 20050243870
Abstract: The method provides for a first network controller, operating according to a first radio technology, to form and send a relay message to a second network controller, operating according to a different, second radio technology. The relay message includes an embedded message for the second network controller. The embedded message may be a transition message requesting transition of a packet switched call for a mobile station handled by the first network controller to a call for the mobile station handled by the second network controller. The method further provides selection of another wireless element for service at a wireless unit, using a current wireless element. A wireless unit receives a message identifying at least one other wireless element, available to the wireless unit and to which a wireless element currently in communication with the wireless unit is also in communication with and the wireless unit selects another wireless element for possible future service based on the message.

  • Publication number: 20010055282
Abstract: An apparatus for reducing power amplifier headroom in a wireless transmission system comprises an orthogonal modulation circuit and a phase rotation circuit coupled to the orthogonal modulation circuit. The orthogonal modulation circuit utilizes a Walsh code for modulating an in-phase signal and a quadrature signal. The orthogonal modulation circuit has an in-phase output and a quadrature output. The phase rotation circuit rotates phase of the in-phase signal and the quadrature signal, producing a phase rotated in-phase signal and a phase rotated quadrature signal. Multiple Walsh code defined channels are associated with a particular wireless user.

  • Patent number: 6069883
Abstract: A code division multiple access system method and apparatus provides for allocation of increased bandwidth to a requesting mobile station. An access controller receives a data burst request (from either a requesting mobile station or from an external network already in connection with the mobile station) requesting a first data rate in excess of the basic data rate B allocated to a mobile station of a first cell. The access controller determines an increased data rate which is to be granted to said mobile station without causing excessive interference at said first cell and at least one adjacent cell and transmits a data burst assignment to a base station of said first cell indicating the increased data rate which has been granted to said mobile station.
