Abstract: A drinking vessel comprises a hollow cup having an upper rim defining a mouth opening. A lid removably mounted on the cup extends across the mouth opening to prevent spilling of liquid from the cup. The lid includes a base so mounted on the cup and having a flange extending inwardly from the cup's rim partly across the mouth opening and defining a port aligned with an inner part of the mouth opening. The lid further includes a valve element in register with the port, a seal on the valve element underlying the flange, and an actuator adjoining the valve element and disposed laterally outwardly thereof, such that when the actuator is depressed by downward force of the user's thumb, the valve element pivots downwardly, separating the seal from the flange. A spring normally biases the valve element upwardly with the seal against the flange.

Abstract: A water filter assembly for use with a shower bath comprises a housing containing a filter and a bypass adapter which allows the filter to be displaced, e.g. downwardly, from the direct line leading from the water source to the shower head. The housing is also preferably adapted to hold containers for cosmetics or the like. Several forms of containers, particularly adapted for use in such a holder, are disclosed. Also disclosed are several preferred forms of filter adapted for this use, as well as improved quick disconnect type couplers allowing simultaneous operation of two adjacent such couplers.

Abstract: A water filtration system, and a filter and timer therefor. The system includes a primary container defining a holding chamber and a secondary chamber defining a filtering chamber at least partially within the holding chamber but spaced above the bottom wall of the holding chamber. The filter assembly is removably connected to the secondary container and comprises a cannister containing a filter disposed generally below the lower end of the filtering chamber, the cannister having inlet means communicating with the filtering chamber and outlet means disposed below the inlet means and communicating with the holding chamber. The timer is connected to the filter and includes a tube with an indicator movable longitudinally therein through a non-gaseous fluid having a specific gravity different than that of the indicator.

Abstract: A portable liquid dispenser suitable for use by persons while performing an activity comprises a thermally-insulated container for liquids having a fastener for releasably attaching the same for access by the user. A single flexible dispensing tube having a pair of parallel longitudinal passages is connected at one end connected to the filling cap of the container and at the other end to a dispensing valve for discharging liquids from the container. The container is pressurized by a compressible bulb sealed end around the distal end of the dispensing tube in communication with the interior of the container through one longitudinal passage in the tube. A check valve is disposed in the air inlet of the fitting and another check valve is disposed in the air inlet of the dispensing valve which cooperate with the bulb to force air into the container.
