  • Publication number: 20190053503
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for automatically making a pocket sandwich, and methods for making and using the same. The apparatus includes a platform configured to support a wrap (such as pita bread, tortillas, or the like) and a rotatable food pocket arranged at a center of the platform. A folding paddle is configured to rotate toward and away from the center of the platform, being placed at a location with respect to the platform such that motion of the folding paddle toward the center of the platform folds a portion of the wrap. The holding arm has a tip at a free end thereof, being movable in a vertical direction toward and away from the center of the platform. The holding arm is configured to contact the wrap and hold the folded pleat in place while the food pocket rotates with respect to the platform to permit the folding paddle to generate a successive pleat.

  • Patent number: 9795158
Abstract: A kitchen appliance for popping popcorn comprises a housing and a popping mechanism. The housing comprises a bottom housing portion adapted to sit stably upon a surface during operation of the appliance and adapted to receive popcorn that has been popped by the appliance and a top housing portion adapted to sit stably upon the bottom housing portion during operation of the appliance and selectively removable from the bottom housing portion. The popping mechanism heats unpopped popcorn kernels in order to cause the unpopped popcorn kernels to pop. The popping mechanism is affixed within the top housing portion such that, when the top housing portion is selectively removed from the bottom housing portion and placed upright on a surface, the popping mechanism does not contact the surface.

  • Patent number: 9646149
Abstract: A samples service is configured to provide accelerated application authentication and content delivery. A proof of identity of a client application is exchanged with credentials that are used to authenticate the client application to a content provider. Samples of documents from the content provider are selected based on a contextual information of the client application to provide it with customized content. Static data associated with the samples are provided instead of dynamic data that is resource intensive to generate.

  • Publication number: 20170059174
Abstract: A toaster oven comprising a housing defining a food cavity, an opening defined in the housing, a door movably affixed to the housing, a cooking grid selectively mountable within the housing, one or more heating elements within the housing, a timer controlling activation of the heating elements, and a timer control knob engaged with the timer. The timer control knob is selectively rotatable in a second direction from the off position to a third position to activate at least one of the one or more heating elements until the timer control knob is selectively rotated in the first direction back to the off position. The timer control knob has a selectively depressible pushbutton, such that the timer control knob is only selectively rotatable in the second direction from the off position to the third position when the pushbutton is depressed.

  • Patent number: 9198540
Abstract: A kitchen appliance for processing foodstuff includes a housing, a bowl, a bowl lid, and a bail handle. The bowl is removably mountable onto the housing and comprises an upper rim defining a mouth for selectively receiving a rotatable tool within the bowl. The bowl lid is removably mountable onto the upper rim of the bowl and comprises a top wall and a flange depending downwardly therefrom. The bail handle is pivotably affixed to opposing sides of the housing. The bail handle is pivotable between (1) a disengaged position in which the bowl lid may be removed from the bowl and in which the bowl may be removed from the housing and (2) an engaged position in which the bail handle applies downward pressure on the bowl lid to retain the bowl lid on the upper rim of the bowl and to retain the bowl on the housing.

  • Patent number: 9131804
Abstract: A toaster comprises a housing, at least one spring-loaded bread tray, one or more heating elements, a bread tray retaining mechanism, a bread tray partial retaining mechanism, and a lifter arm slot. The bread tray is movable between an up position and a down position and is biased toward the up position. The bread tray retaining mechanism selectively retains the bread tray in the down position while the toasting operation is in progress and releases the bread tray from the down position when the toasting operation is complete. The bread tray partial retaining mechanism selectively retains the bread tray in a position between the down position and the up position after the bread tray is released by the bread tray retaining mechanism. In one embodiment, the lifter arm slot comprises an upper portion and a lower portion, the lower portion being wider than the upper portion.
