Dushyant K. Palejiya has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11519498
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling engine operation in response to a request to shift a transmission gear. In one example, a method may include maintaining operating conditions of an engine and redirecting electric power generated via the engine from a traction motor to a battery in response to a request to shift a transmission while the driveline is operating in a series mode. In this way engine efficiency may be improved and a time frame for shifting a transmission gear may be reduced responsive to a gear shift request while the powertrain is operating in series mode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 2019
Date of Patent: December 6, 2022
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Dushyant K. Palejiya, Jason Meyer, Rajit Johri
  • Patent number: 11220177
Abstract: A vehicle includes an actuator, a drivetrain configured to receive mechanical power from the actuator, an accelerator pedal position sensor configured to output a driver-demanded torque, and a controller in electric communication with the sensor and the actuator. The controller is programmed to receive the driver-demanded torque and output a shaped torque command to mitigate driveline disturbances caused by backlash and shaft compliance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 25, 2019
Date of Patent: January 11, 2022
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Maruthi Thiruninravur Ravichandran, Jeffrey Allen Doering, Rajit Johri, Bhavesh Ravindra Paradkar, Dushyant K. Palejiya, Jason Meyer
  • Patent number: 11046299
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for operating a driveline of a four wheel drive vehicle that includes a high gear ratio and a low gear ratio. The driveline may be operated to shift between the high gear ratio and the low gear ratio while the four wheel drive vehicle is moving. In one example, a clutch is opened during shifting from the high gear ratio to the low gear ratio, which allows the vehicle to continue traveling during the gear ratio change.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 2019
Date of Patent: June 29, 2021
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Jason Meyer, Jose Velazquez Alcantar, Rajit Johri, Kevin Ruybal, Dushyant K. Palejiya, Walter Joseph Ortmann
  • Patent number: 10960875
Abstract: Systems and methods changing between driveline operating modes of a hybrid vehicle are described. In one example, electrical output to electric power consumers is maintained during closing of a driveline disconnect clutch. Further, engine speed is controlled via a first electric machine to a speed of a second electric machine to provide smooth closing of a driveline disconnect clutch.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 30, 2021
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
