Patent number: 11224736Abstract: An implantable blood pump system is disclosed herein. The implantable blood pump system includes an implantable blood pump and a controller coupled to the blood pump. The controller includes a partially sealed housing defining an internal volume. The controller includes an energy storage component contained within the internal volume and a processor. The processor can generate one or several signals affecting operation of the implantable blood pump. The controller includes a connector receptacle including a plurality of contacts selectively coupled via a circuitry to the energy storage component. The circuitry can electrically couple the plurality of contacts to the energy storage component when a connector insert is received within the connector receptacle and deactivate the plurality of contacts from the energy storage component when the connector insert is not within the connector receptacle.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2019Date of Patent: January 18, 2022Assignee: TC1 LLCInventors: Dustin Roelle, Joseph C. Stark, III, Ethan Petersen, Jaime Arturo Romero

Patent number: 11183724Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an electrochemical cell connector for electrically connecting a plurality of electrochemical cells, and to battery packs including the electrochemical cell connector. The electrochemical cell connectors of the present disclosure are fabricated from a flexible circuit. The flexible circuit includes conductors, such as nickel conductors, soldered or otherwise attached thereto via holes or openings in the flexible circuit. These conductors may be welded or otherwise attached to an electrochemical cell, and the electrochemical cell connections made on the flexible circuit. In many embodiments, the conductors may be attached to the flexible circuit using industry standard automated assembly equipment thus streamlining the manufacturing process and improving overall quality of the product.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2019Date of Patent: November 23, 2021Assignee: TC1 LLCInventors: Dustin Roelle, Jesse Gage, Gregory Ray, Ethan Petersen, Jaime Romero

Patent number: 10737007Abstract: A patient adapter for connecting a driveline cable between an implantable blood pump and a controller. The patient adapter provides a sufficiently large form factor to make connecting ends of a driveline cable easy for patients who lack dexterity or have unclear vision. The patient adapter includes an adapter body that defines a central lumen that extends through an entire length of the adapter body. The central lumen is configured to receive an end of a percutaneous end connector of the driveline cable and an end of a controller end connector of the driveline cable. The patient adapter includes a first mating feature configured to engage a corresponding feature of the percutaneous end connector and a second mating feature configured to engage a corresponding feature of the controller end connector. A thickness of the adapter body is greatest at a position proximate the controller end connector.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2018Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: TC1 LLCInventors: Julien Duhamel, John Mark Di Paola, Dustin Roelle, Dmitry Protsenko
