  • Publication number: 20070118016
Abstract: An endoscope, in particular a duodenoscope, for mother-baby cholangioscopy, having a working canal that runs in or on a shaft of the endoscope and includes an outlet opening distally on the endoscope head, so that the working canal includes at least a first insertion opening, which lies in an area of the shaft far from the proximal end of the endoscope.

  • Patent number: 6319287
Abstract: The stent assembly comprises a tubular stent and a pusher hose for advancing the stent. A guiding string may be pushed through the stent and the pusher hose. For coupling the stent to the pusher hose, the stent is provided with a filament that may be placed in a laterally open receptacle in the pusher hose where it is blocked by the guiding string. On the guiding string, the stent is placed in a body channel, it being possible to advance or pull back the stent. After the correct position has been reached, the guiding string is pulled out and the pusher hose is removed. The filament is accessible to an extraction tool if the stent should be pulled out or changed in position posteriorly.

  • Patent number: 5109833
Abstract: The invention relates to a heart massage and artificial respiration device comprising a patient adapter, a compressible, elastically re-expanding bellows or the like adapted to be placed on the thorax of the patient, an air intake valve associated with the bellows, a patient valve between the bellows and the patient adapter and a normally closed pressure relief valve which, after completion of the compression step, is necessarily opened mechanically, wherein to achieve the objects of simplification, more economical manufacture, simple assembly, cleaning and maintenance, and for absolutely reliable functioning under rough usage both in and out of hospitals, the air intake valve and the pressure relief valve are combined to form a universal valve.

  • Patent number: 4846175
Abstract: A probe for introduction into the human or animal body, having a sheath of flexible material and a traction element extending longitudinally in the sheath that is fastened to the sheath for the purpose of effecting curvature by exerting traction at its outer end and runs on one side of the sheath in the region of curvature (B), in particular a papillotome, is to be designed so as to obtain a specified direction of curvature. For this purpose the sheath has different moments of resistance to bending in two mutually perpendicular directions across its cross-section, and the traction element is arranged on the side towards which the sheath has the smaller moment of resistance.

  • Patent number: 4762519
Abstract: An apparatus, for placing a feeding tube in the stomach of the human or animal body, has:a hollow needle, which is surrounded by a sleeve, for providing an opening in the abdominal wall and the stomach wall and for bringing the sleeve into the opening:the tube, which has a first draw member at its one end:and a thread-like second draw member, which may be introduced through the sleeve, for drawing the tube from the cavity of the stomach into the opening. The connection between the first and the second draw members can be produced inside the stomach. This is achieved in that the second draw member has an expandable loop at its inner end and the first draw member has a coupling element which may pass through the loop and be held fast by contraction of the loop.

  • Patent number: 4649916
Abstract: A stiffening probe and tensioning device for use therewith. The probe comprises an elongated casing and a core longitudinally extending through the casing. This core includes front and back end portions respectively extending forward of and rearward of the casing, and respectively supported for longitudinal sliding movement relative to front and back ends of the casing. A stop element is connected to the front end portion of the core to limit rearward movement of that front end portion relative to the casing, and another stop element is connected to the back end portion of the core to facilitate pulling the core rearward relative to the casing. The tensioning device comprises a frame including front and back end pieces, and front and back thrust pieces mounted on and longitudinally displaceable along the frame. A spring is held between the front end and front thrust pieces, and another spring is held between the back end and back thrust pieces.
