  • Publication number: 20110211650
Abstract: A method for performing a rate shaping of multiple data streams which are to be transmitted through a network, said network having the capability to perform a rate shaping using a first rate shaping scheme and at least one other rate shaping scheme other than said first rate shaping scheme, wherein said first rate shaping scheme has a smaller impact on the quality of the data stream than said at least one other rate shaping scheme but requires more computational resources than said at least one other rate shaping scheme, said method comprising: determining based on the resources of the network the maximum number n of data streams for which said first rate shaping scheme can be applied as a rate shaping scheme; selecting n data streams among the multiple data streams which are to be transmitted and performing a transcoding on them to perform a rate shaping; performing a rate shaping for other data streams using a different rate shaping scheme other than said first rate shaping scheme.

  • Publication number: 20110122315
Abstract: A method determining the temporal relationship between a first video sequence and a second video sequence, said method comprising: obtaining from said first video sequence a first parameter such that the evolvement of said first parameter over time corresponds to the change of the entropy of said first video sequence over time; obtaining from said second video sequence a second parameter such that the evolvement of said second parameter over time corresponds to the change of the entropy of said second video over time; matching the evolvement of said first parameter over time to the evolvement of said second parameter over time to thereby determine the temporal relationship between the two video sequences.

  • Publication number: 20090174811
Abstract: Applying a mechanism of image signal processing and color-space-conversion to convert the captured Green components to be Y, luminance components for only those pixels having raw Green data without interpolation, and to convert the Blue components to be U, chrominance components for only those pixels having raw Blue data, and Red components to be V, chrominance components for only those pixels having raw Red data. These converted YUV components are input to a predetermined video compression codec for reducing the intra- and inter-frame redundant information.

  • Publication number: 20060015799
Abstract: This invention provides an efficient method of error tracking which quickly recovers the error packet of data. A side information is sent along with a normal video stream that can be used by an intermediate network node in order to improve the quality of the video transmission. The intermediate node receives the original video stream as well as the side information and uses the side information to reduce the error propagation. The error tracking is signaled from the intermediate node to the mobile phone device and the intermediate network node functions the error correction. The side information can then be used to refresh or update those areas that are affected by error concealment and error propagation.
