Abstract: Systems and techniques for a sensor platform for a geometric physical area are described herein. The sensor platform combines sensors installed in the physical area with transient sensors on people and articles within the area. This collaborative sensor data may then be used to identify interactions between people and articles and react by using these interactions to locate documents based on the person, the article, and the interaction within the geometric physical area.

One example embodiment includes a referral application operating on a smartphone, configured to correlate data from multiple sources and provide context-aware recommendations and information relevant to a product or service being evaluated by a consumer in the physical shopping environment (such as a retail store). For example, the data may be obtained from a retailer's product information database, a retailer's competitor information database, an advertiser information database, an Internet-hosted service, a social network, or similar internal or external information sources. The real-time product information may be correlated, aggregated, and displayed to the user to either facilitate the retail purchase in the store, or encourage another online or retail purchase.

Abstract: Recognition-base security including use of an image capture device to capture images of a visiting individual. An image analysis agent coupled with the image capture device to receive a captured image, to compare characteristics of the captured image to stored characteristics of visitor profiles, to transmit an indication of a match between the captured image and one of the visitor profiles to a user associated with a building visited by the visiting individual. A security response agent coupled with the image analysis agent and the electronic system to generate a policy-determined response to the visiting individual based on the identity. The policy-determined response comprises providing a signaling response to the user and/or the visiting individual.
