Publication number: 20250145512Abstract: A glass manufacturing apparatus includes a delivery apparatus defining an upstream portion of a ribbon travel path extending in a first travel direction. A forming roll extends along an axis parallel to the travel path and perpendicular to the first travel direction. The forming roll includes a recess that imparts a protrusion to a ribbon. A substantially planar surface is positioned downstream from the forming roll and receives the ribbon. A conveyor supports the substantially planar surface. The conveyor moves the substantially planar surface in a second travel direction that is angled relative to the first travel direction. A force application apparatus biases the ribbon toward the substantially planar surface to alter a position of the protrusion relative to a major surface of the ribbon. Methods of manufacturing a ribbon are provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2023Publication date: May 8, 2025Inventors: STEPHEN RAY HOWARD, JUI-HSIANG HUNG, JACOB IMMERMAN, WILLIAM EDWARD LOCK, ANIELLO MARIO PALUMBO, DAVID POSADA-PINEDA, ROHIT RAI, ZHEMING ZHENG

Publication number: 20190343503Abstract: Organ manipulation devices for atraumatically grasping the surface of an organ and repositioning the organ to allow access to a location on the organ that would otherwise be substantially inaccessible. Methods of accessing a beating heart, retracting the heart using an organ manipulation apparatus, and stabilizing a surgical target area with a stabilizer. Both the organ manipulator and stabilizer are fixed to a stationary object which may be a sternal retractor. A system for performing beating heart coronary artery bypass grafting includes a sternal retractor, organ manipulator and stabilizer.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2019Publication date: November 14, 2019Applicant: MAQUET CARDIOVASCULAR LLCInventors: Harry Leonard GREEN, II, Jon M. TANAKA, Edward A. PINEDA, Dwight P. MOREJOHN, Robert MOSLEY, Joshua WALLIN, Iris Leon CORBIN

Patent number: 9345461Abstract: Forming a proximal anastomosis on an aortic wall includes method and instrumentation and apparatus for forming an aortic puncture and inserting into the vessel through the puncture a fluid-impervious sealing element with a protruding retainer. An anastomosis of a graft vessel over the puncture is partially completed with the retainer of the sealing element protruding through the partial anastomosis. The retainer facilitates removal of the sealing element from the partial anastomosis prior to completion of the procedure.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2011Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: MAQUET Cardiovascular LLCInventors: Albert K. Chin, Dwight Morejohn, Charles S. Taylor, Steven B. Choi, Eugene Reis, John W. Davis, Geoffrey H. Willis, Edward A. Pineda, Kushal P. Vepa
