  • Patent number: 6517457
Abstract: The present invention is a dynamically steerable mono belt apparatus and includes a first pivotable body element in communication with a second pivotable body element. A first pivot mechanism is attached to and positioned between the first pivotable body element and the second pivotable body element to allow the first pivotable body element to pivot in a first pivot plane of movement with respect to the second pivotable body element. The present invention also includes a continuous belt element formed as a loop and continuously rotatable in a first plane of rotation around the first pivotable body element, the first pivot mechanism and the second pivotable body element. The continuous belt element is flexible in the pivot plane of movement, such that when the first pivotable body element is pivoted, via the first pivot mechanism, in the pivot plane of movement, the continuous belt element is flexed.

  • Patent number: 4682183
Abstract: An improved gutter assembly for a continuous multiple stream, pagewidth ink jet printer. The gutter assembly comprises a plurality of lineal segments mounted end-to-end to provide pagewidth guttering capability. Each segment is one integral structure. The gutter assembly is mounted adjacent the stitch sensors which are located a predetermined distance from the moving recording medium. Each integral gutter segment has a generally open concave shape. The integral gutter segment has a flat surface portion roughly parallel with the trajectories of the ink droplets and a flat sloping portion with an interconnecting arcuate portion. The flat surface portion of the gutter segment is below the droplet trajectories and approximately coplanar with the stitch sensors. A plurality of relatively narrow, droplet collecting entrances are formed in the flat surface portion of the gutter segment and project upwardly therefrom above the droplet flight paths.

  • Patent number: 4326915
Abstract: An apparatus in which sheet material is decurled. The apparatus presses the sheet material into contact with a substantially rigid arcuate member in at least two regions. In this way, the sheet material moves about the arcuate member in a curved path to remove the curl therein.
