  • Publication number: 20110089134
Abstract: A method of compression molding a plastic article, such as a closure, includes providing a molten polymeric material, comprising a mixture of at least one molten polymer and a gas blended therein. The polymeric material is molded between cooperating male and female molds, with relative movement of the molds controlled to form a mold cavity with a predetermined volume. Formation in this manner acts to produce a molded closure with substantially reduced density, thus achieving desired material savings, while still providing a closure or like article exhibiting desired performance characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20060135729
Abstract: This invention is directed to mono- and bis-substituted oxetane monomers having fluorinated alkoxymethylene side chains, hydroxy-terminated prepolymers derived from these mono- and bis-substituted oxetane monomers and tetrahydrofuran (THF), and polymers produced from these prepolymers, as well as the synthesis processes associated with each, and the use of the monomers, prepolymers and ultimate polymers, both directly and as components of numerous compositions.

  • Publication number: 20050048213
Abstract: A method for preparing a substrate having an adherent, durable, flexible, and stain resistant layer. The layer is formed by applying a composition that includes (i) the reaction product of a polyester and a polyoxetane having at least one carboxylic acid end group and at least one pendant —CH2—O—(CH2)n-Rf group and (ii) an amino resin curative. The substrate may be printed or embossed or both. The coated substrate has both stain resistant properties and dry erase properties.
