  • Patent number: 9067632
Abstract: Wheeled vehicle, comprising of one front wheel, two side wheels and one rear wheel, configured on a chassis frame in a symmetrical rhombus (diamond) layout. The non-steered front wheel is turned by pedals using human power, similar or exactly in bicycle use design, or with electric motor power. The two parallel side wheels in one axis are perpendicular to the chassis frame, allowing them to swivel in unison for steering the vehicle without elaborate axle pivoting apparatus. The rear wheel is powered by an electric motor, hybrid motor or liquid fuel motor. The rear wheel is attached longitudinally with the center of the chassis frame so that it swivels also in unison for steering with the side wheels.

  • Patent number: 4737876
Abstract: A magnetic record disk assembly includes a floppy disk located within a rigid case having integral case stiffeners, wiping force appliers and floppy disk stabilizers. Wipers made of fabric, cleaning material are located within the case and disk flexure creates frictional force between the wipers and the disk. Thus, the wipers clean contaminants from the disk during rotation thereof within the case. A simple, automatic, cam-actuated shutter covers a transducer access slot in the case. This shutter is restrained by a detent to prevent undesired movement. A modified form of shutter has a compression spring that facilitates assembly of the shutter. A write protect device is located within the case. This device includes a piece that is mounted to rotate through an arc of 180.degree. in a plane perpendicular to a side surface of the case for opening and closing a sensing aperture within the case.

  • Patent number: 4648002
Abstract: A protective jacket for permanently containing a floppy-type magnetic recording disk includes a liner attached to at least one of the interior sidewalls of the jacket in a manner whereby a protruding warp is formed in the liner having the form of an elongated ridge. The warp protrudes far enough from the interior wall of the jacket so that, upon rotation of the disk, the warp is deformed and resiliently wipes the face of the disk to remove dust and the like, thereby preventing errors in reading/writing upon the disk.

  • Patent number: 4562505
Abstract: A disk has a central aperture and a metallic hub has an annular flange abuting one side of the disk. A boss projects from the annular flange through the central aperture. A retainer ring fits about the boss and abuts the side of the disk opposite from the annular flange. A plurality of laser welds extend between the annular flange and the retainer ring to bond the disk in place therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4457473
Abstract: An improved tape cartridge includes a housing having a rigid base member and means for covering the base member. The base member is a one-piece structure having a bottom of flat-cross-section and a plurality of holes extending through the bottom. The base member includes three side walls with two side walls being opposed and the side walls extending upwardly generally perpendicular to the bottom. Preferably, the base member is die casted and made from aluminum alloy. The housing includes a resilient cover, preferably made from plastic which does not distort the base member's flatness upon assembly. The cover has a front wall which extends downward generally perpendicular to a top portion of the cover and the front wall has an open face. Means for connecting the cover and base member are included.
