  • Patent number: 4422644
Abstract: A board game apparatus includes a housing having a playing surface defined thereon. A plurality of spaced playing piece receiving apertures are arranged in a pattern on the playing surface. A playing piece support surface is arranged beneath the playing surface to support one or more playing pieces, sized to pass through the playing piece receiving apertures, within the apertures. A plurality of deflectable elements are arranged on the support surface, aligned beneath certain of the apertures, to allow a playing piece to be pushed through the support surface and the playing surface into the interior of the housing. The playing surface is rotatably mounted on the housing to enable the position of the apertures to be varied with respect to the position of the deflectable elements on the support surface.

  • Patent number: 4364104
Abstract: This invention relates to a novelty or foldable toy light having an appearance similar to that of a switchblade knife. The light includes a housing with an extensible element which rotates from a position within the housing to a position extending away from the housing. A lamp within the extensible element powered by batteries within the housing illuminates the extensible element which is made of light conveying material. The lamp is activated by a rotary switch within the housing so that the extensible element is illuminated in response to outward rotation of the extensible element.

  • Patent number: 4345400
Abstract: An amusement device of the present invention comprises a bank constructed in the form of a plush doll having a coin insert aperture in the facial area, such as the mouth, leading to an internal coin receptacle. A pawl and ratchet mechanism is disposed within the doll to prevent coins inserted in the doll from completely entering the coin receptacle until the pawl and ratchet mechanism is manually activated by pushing or squeezing a predetermined area of the doll, thereby rotating a ratchet wheel to force the coins into the coin receptacle and simultaneously causing pivotal movement of a face distorting member so that it appears as if the doll is chewing the coin.

  • Patent number: 4322909
Abstract: A toy food processor includes a housing and a bowl in the shape and appearance of a food processor. Various food items are provided which may be removably mounted in an accessible compartment of the bowl. Mounting of a particular food item within the compartment positions the item for slicing by the food processor. A manual crank rotates a cutter blade which successively slices segments from the bottom of the food item and discharges the slices through a chute on the front of the bowl.

  • Patent number: 4261564
Abstract: Practice apparatus for use in measuring azimuth angle, equivalent distance and angle of elevation of a ball that is punted, passed or kicked comprises a base including means for securing the device in fixed position on the ground or other surface. A tether line extends from the base and is connected at a free outer end with the ball which may be kicked from a tee, punted, or passed to extend and exert tension on the tether line. The angle of elevation and/or angle of azimuth of the tether line is increased or changed when the ball is kicked or thrown. The practice apparatus includes a first element for measuring and indicating the angle of elevation of the tether when the ball is moved away from a starting point by kicking or throwing, a second element for measuring the azimuth angle or direction of the path of movement of the ball and a third element for indicating the equivalent distance that the ball would be moved except for the restraint of the tether line.

  • Patent number: 4245429
Abstract: A doll having the appearance and physical characteristics of a new born baby includes a hollow body and head interconnected at the neck and a hollow sealed bladder is mounted in the head having a smaller volume and a flexible wall portion secured to an inside surface. The hollow bladder is filled with a plurality of discrete, particles such as sand grains or beans flowable and movable freely about within the bladder to change the shape and change the center of gravity of the doll's head when the body or head is moved. Similarly, another body bladder is mounted in the hollow body with a volume somewhat less than the volume of the body and this bladder is formed with a flexible wall and filled with similar discrete, flowable particles so that the center of gravity of the doll's body is changed as the body or head is moved. Thus, the doll of the present invention feels and handles like a real-life, young baby.

  • Patent number: 4244138
Abstract: An animated action toy in the form of a prehistoric bird comprises a hollow body having a head at one end and a tail at the opposite end adapted for use in holding the toy in the hand for manipulation thereof. A pair of flappable wings are mounted on the body for control by a trigger. A beak is formed on the head including a beak member which is movably mounted to open and close and when so activated an internal sound generator is operated to produce a cackling sound. The bird includes a pair of talons extending from the underside of the body and each includes a plurality of claws which are manually controlled for gripping and releasing external objects.
