Further, based on pairing the wound dressing and the control circuitry, a timer can be initialized such that the wound dressing can be configured to function prior to the timer reaching a lifetime threshold and the control circuitry can be configured to disable the wound dressing, via a fuse, upon the timer reaching the lifetime threshold.
