    Abstract: Derivatized cucurbiturils can be efficiently prepared and utilized for forming cucurbituril assemblies. These cucurbituril assemblies, in turn, can form affinity binding pairs with polyamines structures that are designed capable of binding to these assemblies. The resulting affinity pairs are highly advantageous over the presently known affinity pairs and therefore can be efficiently utilized in a myriad of application. Thus, according to one aspect of the present invention there is provided a cucurbituril comprising at least one functional group covalently attached hereto, whereby the at least one functional group being for forming an assembly of at least two cucurbiturils. According to further features in preferred embodiments of the invention described below, the cucurbituril is selected from the group consisting of CB[5], CB[6], CB[7], CB[8] and CB[n], wherein n is an integer that equals to or is lower than 20.

Isotopically enriched water molecules include deuterium hydrogen oxide, dideuterium oxide, tritium hydrogen oxide, ditritium oxide and deuterium tritium oxide.     Abstract: The invention relates to novel titanocene derivatives possessing chemotherapeutic activity and method for their preparation. These compounds possess two cyclopentadiene rings linked to titanium as a central atom and bound covalently to two phenoxy groups which possess a substituent R selected from the group consisting of COOCH.sub.3, COOC.sub.2 H.sub.5, H, COOCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OCH.sub.3 and are free from amino, nitro, chloride and fluoride groups. The novel compounds represent a compromise between the main properties for an antitumor agent, i.e., electrophilicity and stability, being water soluble. Cytotoxicity measurements of these compounds showed significant growth inhibition properties, expressed in terms of IC.sub.50 [M] values.

    Abstract: Novel discogens based on tricycloquinazoline derivatives and methods for their preparation are described. One method for their preparation is to nitrate veratraldehyde and after reducing the resulting nitrate to dimethoxy anthranil to obtain its trimerization thus producing a trisubstituted tricycloquinazoline. Another method is to start with dichlorotoluene and after its nitration to oxidize the nitrate into dichloronitrodiacetoxytoluene, its hydrolysis into benzaldehyde followed by a partial reduction to anthranil and finally by the trimerization of the anthranil to obtain the hexachlorotricycloquinazoline. The novel compounds are useful as fluorescent indicators for high performance oxygen sensors, organic conductors, liquid crystals and polymeric liquid crystals.
