  • Patent number: 8018116
Abstract: A motor arrangement between the movable body and the commutation system comprising movable body coils assembling, wherein said movable body coils assembling are energized for short periods of time of an electric cycle in order to initiate a movement at the movable body. The current applied to the coils assembling is stopped during a passive phase in order to complete a rotary motion based primarily to the magnetic relation between the static body and the movable body, more particularly the magnetic relation between the coils assembling and the permanent magnets in order to reduce the heat and energy consumption and therefore increasing the motor life.

  • Publication number: 20080017208
Abstract: The invention describes a tobacco substitute composition comprising leaves of coffee plants having no detectable amount of nicotine or nicotine related compounds; the method for the preparation of the said composition and the tobacco-like articles prepare from the said composition. The said composition is useful in the manufacture of smoking products such as cigarettes, cigars and pipe material as well as in the manufacture of chewable tobacco-like products. The said composition may be use without any tobacco at all or in combination with different tobacco amounts, thus providing tobacco products having variable amounts of nicotine and useful in controlling the nicotine contents and in methods to reduce or quitting the use of tobacco products.

  • Patent number: 5782869
Abstract: In order to therapeutically move and flex limbs of a person who has undergone severe trauma and who is in need of the assistance of a therapist, a table, which is slidably supported on a tiltable chassis, is connected with a drive mechanism which allows the stroke of reciprocative movement of the bed back and forth along the chassis, to be adjusted so that one or more pieces of supportive apparatus cyclically bend and straighten the arms and legs of a person on the bed in a manner which flexes the joints and muscles in the limbs and promotes blood circulation and other beneficial effects. The support structure, which supports the limbs of the patient, can be adjusted with respect to the chassis so that degree of limb flexure can be varied in accordance with individual/current needs.

  • Patent number: 5752879
Abstract: A table is slidably supported on a chassis which is tiltably supported on a base or support frame. A motorized tilt control device allows the chassis and table to be tilted and the weight of the user made available to produce a load against which exercising can be carried out. The movement of the chassis is dampened using magnetic dampening units.

  • Patent number: 5615618
Abstract: A rotating device such as an orbital motor has a stator which includes a pair of opposed, generally annular magnetic units each comprising a plurality of groups of permanent magnets such as ceramic or ferrous magnets arranged in a side-by-side relationship, each plurality being separated from an adjacent plurality by a magnetically permeable member, such as a malleable steel member or a malleable or molded iron member, to focus the lines of magnetic flux. A core armature is rotatably secured to a rotable shaft between the opposed pair of generally annular magnetic units for rotation therebetween. A commutator is fixedly secured for rotation with the armature coil and for receiving power supplied to or received from the motor and input electrical terminals.

  • Patent number: 5586505
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic unit having a plurality of groups of permanent magnets such as ceramic or ferrous magnets arranged in a side-by-side relationship, each plurality being separated from an adjacent plurality by a magnetically permeable member, such as a malleable steel member or a malleable iron or molded iron member to focus the lines of magnetic flux. Preferably, each of the permanent magnets within a group is also separated by an interleaved sheet of magnetically permeable material. Such a plurality of groups of permanent magnets are secured together to form a channel therebetween in which a supporting member is connected through fastening members to a movable levitated member.

  • Patent number: 5584367
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic unit used as a shock absorber or load leveler for a vehicle and having a plurality of groups of permanent magnets such as ceramic or ferrous magnets arranged in a side-by-side relationship, each plurality being separated from an adjacent plurality by a magnetically permeable member, such as a malleable steel member or a malleable iron or molded iron member to focus the lines of magnetic flux. Preferably, each of the permanent magnets within a group is also separated by an interleaved sheet of magnetically permeable material. Such a plurality of groups of permanent magnets are secured together to form a channel therebetween in which a supporting member is connected through fastening members to a movable levitated member which in turn is connected to the axle of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5431109
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic unit having a plurality of groups of ceramic magnets arranged in a side-by-side relationship, each plurality being separated from an adjacent plurality by a malleable steel member to focus the lines of magnetic flux. Preferably, each of the ceramic magnets within a group is also separated by an interleaved sheet of malleable steel. Such a plurality of groups of ceramic magnets are secured together and to a supporting member through fastening members, and are separated from the support by a non-magnetic member, such as a non-ferrous plate. A second plurality of groups of ceramic magnets are positioned adjacent to a first plurality of such groups of ceramic magnets with opposite poles of the magnets facing each other so that the first and the second pluralities of such groups of magnetics attract one another. Those forces of attraction are used to cause levitation of a vehicle such as a train.
