    Abstract: In a system where resources are used in a varying manner, when performances are monitored based on detected past behavior when the system was operating normally, if performance behavior is detected that is different, it is difficult to determine whether the detected performance behavior results from resources being used differently than when the system was operating normally. According to the present invention, monitoring accuracy is improved by determining whether performance behavior results from change in characteristics relating to the usage of the system by using means for measuring performances when the system is in operation and detecting a performance different from when the system was operating normally, means for measuring characteristics relating to the usage of the system and detecting whether the characteristics are different from when the system was operating normally, and means for comparing performance information with characteristic information relating to the usage of the system.

An interval between adjacent time bands in which the exceeding requests are present is calculated to determine a periodical tendency of occurrence of exceeding.     Abstract: In a computer system that comprises multiple target computers and an analysis computer, one or more first target computers, in which a predetermined application has been installed and invoked, send a log comprising information of multiple configuration changes that have been made prior to invoking the predetermined application to the analysis computer, and the analysis computer receives the log and computes, for each type of configuration change and based on the log, an invocation failure rate which is a percentage at which the invocation of the predetermined application fails subsequent to the configuration change. Then, a second target computer receives, from the analysis computer, first information comprising an invocation failure rate for each type of configuration change related to the predetermined application, and based on the invocation failure rate, displays the type of configuration change that is the cause of the failure of the predetermined application invocation.

    Abstract: In a system which manages path information and status of network with respect to a path being used for access to a storage apparatus and has a redundant path, when a fault occurs in the network, whether or not the path can be recovered by rerouting in network apparatuses is discriminated, thereby performing proper path switching. Construction information and the path information of the network are managed as information of the path which is being used for a storage access by a management server. Further, when the access path is made redundant, the management server obtains fault information in the network and information showing whether or not the path is being reconstructed from the network apparatuses, thereby discriminating the necessity of the path switching. If the path switching is necessary, the management server notifies a host computer and the storage apparatus of it and each apparatus executes a switching process.

Then based on the specified device identifier, the host computer specifies the network identifier, that is an identifier of the network storage device in the network communication protocol.
