  • Publication number: 20100114062
Abstract: The catheter is positioned within an obstruction so that the distal end is positioned distal to the obstruction and proximal openings are positioned proximal to the obstruction. Blood enters the proximal openings and passes through the lumen to the distal end to perfuse blood distal to the obstruction.

  • Publication number: 20100114135
Abstract: A device for temporarily opening a blood vessel is provided. The device has an expandable cage mounted over a shaft having a lumen. The lumen has a distal end, which extends beyond the distal end of the cage so that the lumen provides access to the vasculature distal to the obstruction.

  • Publication number: 20100004607
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods and devices for accessing a cerebral vessel. The system includes a support catheter, which can be advanced into small and tortuous vessels. By advancing the support catheter nearer to the obstruction then can be achieved with conventional guide catheters, the support catheter reduces the likelihood vessel compression and collapse when manipulating a working catheter.

  • Publication number: 20070208371
Abstract: The present invention provides an obstruction removing device and a method for making the obstruction removing device. The method includes two mandrels with an elongate element being wound around the first mandrel and then wrapped around the second mandrel. The mandrels are movable relative to one another so that the second mandrel may be moved closer to the first mandrel after winding the element around the first mandrel and before winding the element around the second mandrel.

  • Publication number: 20050283182
Abstract: The present invention advantageously provides improved systems and methods for intraluminal delivery of implantable occlusive elements, particularly hydratable polymeric filaments. In particular, the systems and methods of the present invention minimize or avoid clumping or clogging a delivery catheter. This is accomplished by utilization of a reinforcing member or sheath that provides an advancing axial force along or over a length of the occlusive element. When the reinforcing member or sheath is pulled in a proximal direction, the occlusive element is advanced to a target site, which may comprise an aneurysm, vasculature of a tumor, arterio-venous malformations, fistulas, or burst blood vessels.
