  • Publication number: 20170107090
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring safety of work vehicles and worksites. Work vehicles and worksites may be provided with target object sensor units for detecting a condition regarding safety determinative aspects of the work vehicle or worksite. The target object sensor units communicate data regarding the safety determinative aspects to a data acquisition and communication unit that produces safety status data. The safety status data is analyzed to determine whether to issue a notification to a notification unit to alert workers of an unsafe condition. The data acquisition and communication unit transmits the safety status data to a server/processing unit for further analysis. The server/processing unit may track the safety status data regarding each worksite or work vehicle and generate statistical data regarding the safety status data. The server/processing unit may communicate with user interface to display notifications and statistical data.

  • Publication number: 20170111713
Abstract: An apparatus and method for remotely monitoring water usage in real time utilizes a sensor attached to a water meter. The sensor monitors water flowing through the meter by analyzing the water meter's magnetic coupling and processes the data to correlate it to real time flow rates. Data is transmitted through a base unit to remote storage and consumers may access the data with application software installed on electronics such as smartphones and tablets. Four components are combined to allow the real time monitoring of water utilization.

  • Patent number: 9329005
Abstract: Embodiments of the Expandable Arrow Nock are comprised of a nock tip, expandable fins, an internal spring, a high tensile strength wire and a pass-through module. When the arrow is fired, the fins are in the stowed position and remain in the stowed position as the arrow travels up to the point where the arrow hits the target animal. At the point where the arrow hits the target animal, the deceleration of the arrow at that instant actuates the compressed internal spring that in turn force the fins into the deployed or open position. The deployed fins prevent the nock from travelling through the body of the animal. However, the shaft portion of the arrow detaches from the nock and pass-through module.

  • Publication number: 20150257732
Abstract: The invention describes a novel implementation of ultrasound or OCT technology to approximate the dimensions of fluid-filled structures (when using ultrasound technology) or other structures (when using OCT technology). The invention in a preferred embodiment is an elongated member such as a catheter that uses ultrasound or OCT technology to approximate the dimensions of a structure into which the catheter has been placed. In a preferred embodiment, the catheter includes multiple ultrasound transducers arranged in an annular or circumferential configuration on, embedded into or within the body of the elongated member so that distance measurements can be obtained between the elongated member and the wall of the immediately facing structure (e.g., a fluid-filled lumen). Utilizing these measurements, the present invention approximates for the physician the shape and size of the structure into which the elongated member is placed.

  • Patent number: 9113785
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus for providing a fluid and reduced-toxicity optical media with optical analysis and therapeutic energy delivery. An aspect of the invention provides an aqueous solution of increased-salinity of between about 1% and 35%. An increasing salinity in accordance with the invention provides improved transmissive efficiency at many wavelengths and less toxicity than many existing systems and methods. A catheter having integrated fibers for probing or treating internal lumens or other tissues can include a liquid-inflatable balloon or flushing mechanism using the solution for displacing blood or other obstructions in an optical path between the fiber and targeted tissue. Methods including spectroscopy can be employed with the solution for diagnosing medical conditions associated with diseased vessels or other tissues while reducing the risk of permanent damage resulting from the diagnosis.
