Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus and a method for winding strips of material not intended for processing, in particular within an apparatus for joining a web of material running off a first reel to a web of material running to a second reel. Known apparatuses have a winding element with a receptacle for the web of material or strip of material, the strip of material being taken up by rotating the winding element. However, it is problematic that the web of material or strip of material slips out of the receptacle during winding, so that reliable take-up is not ensured. By means of the invention, namely, the arrangement of an element for holding the web of material or strip of material in the region of the receptacle, the web of material or strip of material is reliably caught and held, in particular even after the strip of material is separated from the web of material.

Abstract: A device for de-palletizing stacks of blanks stacked on pallets with flat spacing layers disposed in-between, includes a displaceable gripping head and an insertion tool arranged approximately horizontally oriented on the gripping head. The insertion tool is positioned in front of at least one stack of blanks through displacement of the gripping head for being inserted with an approximately horizontal movement between the stack of blanks and the spacing layer for picking up the stack of blanks and for removing the picked up stack of blanks from the spacing layer through a displacement of the gripping head. At least one lifting mechanism is coupled to the gripping head for lifting up one side of the stack of blanks.

Abstract: A driven output shaft is mounted in a housing and has freedom of limited axial displacement between a first and a second position. A biasing spring permanently biases the output shaft to the first position. An impact member surrounds the output shaft and has a plurality of angularly spaced first axial projections which interdigitate with angularly spaced second axial projections provided on a disk member axially fixed on and turnably surrounding the output shaft. A retaining arrangement is provided in the housing and is engageable with the disk member to prevent rotation of the same when an axial force is exerted upon the output shaft counter to the action of the biasing spring, causing axial displacement of the output shaft to the second position thereof, and engagement of the disk member with the retaining arrangement.
