  • Publication number: 20220161616
Abstract: A vehicle control system includes at least one detection device configured to capture detection data. The system further includes a controller that identifies a travel path of the vehicle extending from a current position to a target position of the vehicle. In response to the travel path, the controller calculates a travel zone occupied by the vehicle traversing the travel path and determines at least one viewing zone proximate to the travel zone. The controller further determines a location of a user based on the detection data and controls a navigation routine of the vehicle along the travel path in response to a location of the user relative to the at least one viewing zone.

  • Publication number: 20220066442
Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and methods including a mobile device for remotely controlling the movement of a vehicle and trailer. The mobile device provides an intuitive interface for controlling the movement of the vehicle and trailer by changing the orientation of a vehicle graphic (e.g., of the vehicle and trailer) according to a position of the mobile device around a periphery of the vehicle and trailer. This allows the user to walk around the vehicle and trailer to determine a best position from which to control the vehicle and trailer depending on a given situation without losing the intuitiveness of the user interface.

  • Patent number: 11258898
Abstract: Parameters of clusters of a context-encoded model are updated, per frequency estimation of an aspect of calls to contacts with respect to unique combinations of contextual data of calls matching the respective clusters. The clusters are weighted according to relevance of the unique combinations of contextual data to current contextual information. First probabilities of calling individual contacts are determined according to the current contextual information and one or more inferences between calls determined from the clusters as weighted. Second probabilities of calling each of the plurality of contacts are determined according to a set of rules defining prioritizations for contacts based on external factors. Third probabilities of calling each of the plurality of contacts are determined according to calling patterns of other of the plurality of contacts. The first, second, and third sets of weights are combined to determine final predictions for predicted probabilities to call each of the contacts.

  • Publication number: 20220044501
Abstract: The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for calibrating a handheld device used for controlling a partially autonomous vehicle. An example method to calibrate the handheld device may include entering a remote-control command into the handheld device for controlling a first action performed by the partially autonomous vehicle. A time-delay associated with one or more operations executed in the handheld device in response to entering the remote-control command are then measured. The time-delay is conveyed to a cloud computing device, which evaluates the time-delay and returns a diagnostic result to the handheld device. Evaluation of the time-delay by the cloud computing device may be carried out by comparing the time-delay in the handheld device to time-delay values obtained via crowdsourcing from other handheld devices. The diagnostic result provided by the cloud computing device may be used by the handheld device for calibration purposes.

  • Publication number: 20210380098
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for mobile device tethering for a remote parking assist system of a vehicle. A vehicle includes a camera and a body control module. The body control module sends an instruction to a mobile device and captures, with the camera, an image of the mobile device. The body control module also analyzes the image to determine an initial location of the mobile device relative to the vehicle, and based on the initial location, performs dead reckoning on the mobile device to track the mobile device. When the mobile device is within a threshold distance, the body control module enables autonomous parking.

  • Patent number: 11188070
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for mitigating key fob error for remote parking assist systems. An example vehicle includes wireless modules that communicatively couple to a key fob and a mobile device and a processor. The processor, when the key fob is usable, estimates a location of an operator based on the key fob, and operate an autonomous parking system in a first mode. Additionally, the processor, when the key fob is not usable, estimates the location of the operator based on the mobile device, and operate the autonomous parking system in a second mode.
