  • Patent number: 11112966
Abstract: A touchscreen display having a repositionable virtual input and a method therefor are disclosed. The touchscreen display includes an electronic display displaying a virtual input. The touchscreen display maintains electric communication with a central processing unit (CPU) and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium that stores data corresponding to the touchscreen display. The virtual input is repositionable from a first display position to a second display position based on the virtual input at the first display position satisfying one or more of a number of input attempts, a number of successful input attempts, and a number of failed input attempts satisfying predetermined criteria. When one of the number of input attempts, the number of successful input attempts, and the number of failed input attempts do not satisfy the predetermined criteria, the virtual input can maintain a display position at the first display position.

  • Patent number: 11052683
Abstract: A single nip de-skew, lateral registration, and process direction registration device removes skew, laterally registers, and registers in the process direction substrates moving along a media transport path. The single nip de-skew, lateral registration, and process direction registration device includes a fixed roller that is longer than a rotating wheel that forms a nip with the fixed roller. The wheel has a coefficient of friction that is higher than a coefficient of friction of the roller so an actuator translating the wheel along the fixed roller laterally registers and de-skews substrates.

  • Patent number: 11046544
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling cross curl in corners of sheets between in-line transports includes a curved baffle placed between the two transports. A thin layer of high velocity air is applied to the curved baffle only at lead edge corner regions of the sheets. The high velocity air layer, which will have a tendency to follow the curved baffle (Coanda effect), will divert corners of the sheets (Bernoulli effect) towards the curved baffle. By positioning a curved baffle between the two transports and by applying a uniform air stream to it, a lower pressure area will be created. This will flatten the corners of the sheets and ensure passage between downstream baffles and acquisition by a downstream transport.

  • Publication number: 20210187988
Abstract: A method includes printing, by one or more printer heads of the printing system, a reactive layer onto print media. The method also includes printing, by the one or more printer heads, a determined number of transmission layers and a determined number of barrier layers in alternation with one another. At least a portion of the reactive layer is configured to migrate through the transmission layers. The method further includes printing, by the one or more printer heads, a reactant layer that is configured to change color responsive to a reaction that occurs between the reactant layer and the reactive layer upon migration of the reactive layer through the determined number of transmission layers. The reaction is configured to occur on a received expiration date.

  • Publication number: 20210171307
Abstract: Printing apparatuses include (among other components) a photoreceptor (that is adapted to contact and transfer marking material to a printing side of sheets of media), a transport belt adjacent the photoreceptor, a baffle, and an air outlet. The sheets of media are moved by the photoreceptor across a gap to the transport belt in a “processing direction.” The baffle is adjacent the back side of the sheets of media (the side that is opposite to the printing side of the sheets of media). The air outlet is also positioned adjacent the back side of the sheets of media, and the air outlet is adapted to direct a stream of air along the baffle and between the baffle and the back side of the sheets of media to lift the sheets of media off the photoreceptor without damaging the sheets of media or disturbing the unfused marking material thereon.

  • Publication number: 20210162493
Abstract: A method of three-dimensional printing comprises heating a first portion of a build surface on a platform by impinging a laser beam on the build surface so as to provide a preheated drop contact point having a first deposition temperature. A first drop of a liquid print material is ejected from a printhead of a 3D printer so as to deposit the first drop on the preheated drop contact point at the first deposition temperature.

  • Publication number: 20210149328
Abstract: An apparatus for stripping light weight and ultra-light weight media from a photoreceptor that is tacked thereto by electrostatic or vacuum force includes a set of low-tip stripper fingers configured to strip the light weight and ultra-light weight media from the photoreceptor. The low-tip stripper fingers are adjustable both in the cross process and in attack angle with respect to the photoreceptor in order to change the height at which the tip of each stripper finger is in relation to the photoreceptor and thereby prevent jams due to miss-strips. Additionally, dual stripper fingers are disclosed that support inboard and outboard edges of larger media in order to reduce dog ears and jams.

  • Patent number: 10946682
Abstract: A printer system includes a memory, a processor, and one or more printer heads. The processor determines a number of transmission layers and a number of barrier layers to use in a color changing expiration indicator based at least in part on a time period between a print date of the indicator and a received expiration date. The printer heads print a reactive layer onto print media, where at least a portion of the reactive layer is configured to migrate through the transmission layers. The printer heads also print the determined number of transmission layers and the determined number of barrier layers in alternation. The printer heads print a reactant layer that is configured to change color responsive to a reaction between the reactant layer and the reactive layer upon migration of the reactive layer through the transmission layers. The reaction is configured to occur on the received expiration date.

  • Publication number: 20200339371
Abstract: A system for controlling curl in sheets passing beneath a camera includes applying a thin layer of high velocity air to a curved baffle positioned beneath the camera.
