    Abstract: A device for ambulatory monitoring of brain activity includes a patch secured to a head of a monitoring subject and an electrode secured to the head of the monitoring subject. The electrode produces a signal indicating brain activity of the monitoring subject. The device further includes a signal processor that receives the signal produced by the electrode and processes the signal to produce data. The signal processor is secured to the monitoring subject. The device further includes a display that displays the data produced by the signal processor, the display being secured to the monitoring subject. The device also includes a power source secured to the monitoring subject, the power source providing power to the electrode, the signal processor, and the display wherein the monitoring subject may ambulate unimpeded by the patch, the electrode, the signal processor, the display and the power source.

A basic idea of the present invention is to securely compare two sets of encrypted data to determine whether the two sets of data resemble each other to a sufficient extent. Processing of the input signals (CHI to CH3; 400 to 450) involves including information in the down-mix signals (610, 620) which is useable during subsequent decoding of the down-mix output signals (610, 620) and the parametric data (600) to determine at least some parameter data and thereby enabling representations of the input signals (CHI to CH3; 400 to 450) to be subsequently regenerated.

    Abstract: A system for authenticating a physical object includes an enrolment device, an authentication device, and a storage for storing authentication data. The enrolment device includes an input for receiving a property set Y of the object measured using a measurement procedure. It then creating a property set A from the property set I that includes less information on the actual properties than property set Y, and finally generates a control value Vin dependence on properties of the property set A. An output is used for supplying the control value to the storage as part of the authentication data. The enrolment device operates in an analogous way.
