    Abstract: A device for varying the pressure of a gas. The device contains a rotatable disk with an axis of rotation, a top surface and a bottom surface; at least two vanes are radially connected to the rotatable disk. The device also contains a first stator with a first centerline disposed near said top surface of the rotatable disk, a second stator with a second center disposed near the bottom surface of said rotatable disk, and a third stator with a third centerline disposed above the rotatable disk. The axis of rotation of the rotatable disk is coincident with both the first centerline of said first stator, second centerline of second stator, and the third centerline of said third stator.

    Abstract: A guided rotor compressor that contains at least three hollow rollers, each of which has a sheath surrounding a core. The coefficient of friction of the sheath and the core is from about 0.01 to about 0.15, but the coefficient of friction of the core is at least 1.2 times as great as the coefficient of friction of the sheath. The core has a cross-sectional area that is at least about 1.5 times as great as the cross-sectional area of the said sheath. Each of the core and the sheath has a coefficient of thermal expansion of from about 1×10?5 to about 20×10?5. Each of the core and the sheath has a a notch Izod impact strength of from about 50 Joule-meters to about 100 Joule-meters.

    Abstract: A process for controlling a system for generating electricity which contains at least two compressors and two microturbines. Compressed gas from a pressure vessel is supplied to the first microturbine, and thereafter the pressure within the pressure vessel is measured. If the pressure is below a specified value, a first compressor is caused to operate to feed compressed gas to the pressure vessel. Thereafter, as the system needs require, a second compressor and, optionally, a third compressor is caused to furnish compressed gas to the pressure vessel. If the system pressure within the pressure vessel is too high, the third compressor is shut down and, if necessary, the second compressor and the first compressor are then sequentially shut down.
