  • Publication number: 20100059567
Abstract: A turn-bar for adjusting orientation of a web includes a plurality of roll bars. Positions of at least two bars of the plurality of roll bars are movable with respect to a direction of travel of the web through the turn-bar. An orientation of the web passing through the plurality of bars may be changed by adjusting a position of the at least two bars without removal of the web from the turn-bar. A method of selectively inverting or not inverting a web includes changing a position of at least two roll bars of a turn-bar apparatus with respect to a direction of travel of the web through the turn-bar apparatus, where the web is not inverted by passing through the turn-bar apparatus when the at least two roll bars are in a first position, and the web is inverted by passing through the turn-bar apparatus when the at least two roll bars are in a second position.

  • Publication number: 20080181680
Abstract: The present invention provides a digital offset printing method for producing a composite image on a substrate wherein the image is made up of a first plurality number of component images, each being formed from a different ink. The method comprises providing a first component image on a first surface, transferring the first component image from the first surface to an intermediate transfer module, repeating said provided and transferring steps for further component images until a second plurality number, less than the first plurality number, of component images has been accumulated on the intermediate transfer module, and transferring the accumulated component images from the intermediate transfer module to the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20060292986
Abstract: The present invention generally to a multimode terminal including a wireless local area network (WLAN) system and a Bluetooth system that avoids radio interference between the two systems by collaborative coexistence methods that include time-sharing, combined frequency and time-sharing, and forward looking combined frequency and time-sharing between the WLAN system and the Bluetooth system. The coexistent multimode terminal and the method of coexistence provide WLAN transmission/receptions that are not impacted when there is no Bluetooth traffic, Bluetooth transmissions/receptions that are not impacted when there is no WLAN traffic, Bluetooth and WLAN transmissions/receptions that are provided fair access to the medium when both Bluetooth and WLAN traffic are present, and high priority Bluetooth traffic, for example, voice traffic, that has priority over non-high WLAN traffic.

  • Publication number: 20060275101
Abstract: A fastening arrangement for use with a curved lens having a first face, a second face and a bore passing between them and having a longitudinal axis slanted to the lens's faces, for attaching to the lens a component at the first face of the lens. The fastening arrangement comprises a fastener having a lens-face engaging portion adapted to engage the second face of the lens and a component engaging portion entering the bore at the second face, and further comprises a fastener engaging portion in the component adapted to engage the component engaging portion of the fastener. All the engaging portions are designed so that when the component and curved lens are assembled, the lens-face engaging portion is oriented along the second face. The invention further relates an eyeglass assembly comprising such a fastening arrangement and associated components and fasteners.

  • Patent number: 7111372
Abstract: A milling machine for shaping blanks to create filter lenses for a clip-on accessory whose pair of filter lenses register with a pair of optical lenses in prescription eyeglasses when the accessory is hitched onto the frame of the eyeglasses. The frame of the eyeglasses is composed of two like half sections having a predetermined geometry, an optical lens being mounted in each half-section. The filter lenses in the accessory which are joined by a bridge piece have a geometry matching that of the half-sections of the frame whereby the appearance of the clip-on accessory is compatible with that of the eyeglasses.

  • Patent number: 6830333
Abstract: A system for imaging eyeglasses having lenses, and obtaining data indicative of the outline of the eyeglasses and designated locations associated with the outline. The system includes a positioning device for placing the eyeglasses. The system further includes a short focal length imaging device for acquiring an image of the eyeglasses. The system further includes a processor and a display configured to calculate an editable outline for each eyepiece of the eyeglasses and display the outline and the image, such that the editable outline can be compared to a respective eyepiece of the image. The processor is further configured to calculate supplemental locations linked to the outline for manufacturing holes and/or slots that anchor clip-on parts that include bridge and legs, and for providing data indicative of the specified outline and supplemental locations.

  • Patent number: 5867604
Abstract: An apparatus for, and method of, improving the resolution of a conventional imaging system by effectively increasing the bandwidth of an imaging system's transfer function. An object is first illuminated with periodic illumination. The phase of the periodic illumination is varied while the periodic illumination is used to scan the object. A plurality of images are received by an imaging system whereby the images received correspond to variations in the phase of the periodic illumination. These images are subsequently processed to extract information in phase with the periodic illumination and information 90 degrees out of phase with the periodic illumination. In an optical microscope system, the periodic illumination also provides automatic focusing and three-dimensional imaging capabilities.
