  • Publication number: 20210059044
Abstract: An electronic device and a method for manufacturing such an electronic device are described. The electronic device includes an electronic component, and a component carrier in which the electronic component is embedded. The component carrier includes a first component carrier part having a first cut-out portion and a second component carrier part having a second cut-out portion, the first cut-out portion and the second cut-out portion facing opposite main surfaces of the electronic component. An electrically conductive material is provided on the surface of the first cut-out portion and on the surface of the second cut-out portion. The first cut-out portion and the second cut-out portion respectively form a first cavity and a second cavity on opposite sides of the electronic component.

  • Publication number: 20200241107
Abstract: A radar sensing system for a vehicle includes a radar sensor disposed at the vehicle so as to sense exterior of the vehicle. The radar sensor includes a plurality of transmitters that transmit radio signals, and a plurality of receivers that receive radio signals, with the received radio signals being transmitted radio signals that are reflected from an object. A processor is operable to process outputs of the receivers. The radar sensor includes a printed circuit board having circuitry disposed thereat and at least one waveguide having an interface end in electrical contact with the printed circuit board. The at least one waveguide includes at least one notch at the interface end that reduces an area of electrical contact between the at least one waveguide and the printed circuit board and increases pressure at the electrical contact area.

  • Publication number: 20200217920
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to a method and a system for determining a position of a movable agent device in a reflective environment of which a geometric model is known and in which at least one anchor device has a predetermined position, comprising: transmitting a first and a second ultra-wideband pulse signal via a first and a second uni-directional antenna of the anchor device, respectively, and receiving respective received signals via an omni-directional antenna of the agent device; defining a set of candidate positions within said geometric model, and, for each candidate position, calculating a set of multipath components as a function of the geometric model, directivities of the uni-directional antennas and the position of the anchor device; determining a deviation measure between the calculated multipath components and said received signals; and obtaining the position of the agent device as the candidate position with the minimum deviation measure.

  • Publication number: 20190257918
Abstract: A radar sensing system for a vehicle includes a radar sensor disposed at the vehicle so as to have a field of sensing exterior of the vehicle. The radar sensor includes a plurality of transmitters that transmit radio signals, a plurality of receivers that receive radio signals, and a plurality of antennas that communicate the radio signals to the receivers and from the transmitters. The received radio signals are transmitted radio signals that are reflected from an object. A processor is operable to process outputs of the receivers to detect the object. At least some of the antennas of the radar sensor include non-rectangular slot antennas each having a slot that includes a longitudinal portion and a transverse portion that extends transverse in at least one direction from the longitudinal portion. The non-rectangular slot provides an enhanced radiation pattern of the transmitted radio signals.
