The roller blind device can be incorporated in a wind deflector.

Abstract: A motor vehicle wind deflector contains a stretching bow mounted to be pivotable around a first fixed pivot axis running transversely to the vehicle. A flexible flat structure which is rollable onto and unrollable from a rolling axis parallel to stretching bow axis is attached to the stretching bow to which a roof arch is also connected. The roof arch is mounted to be pivotable around a second fixed pivot axis extending transversely to the vehicle, which second axis is spaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle from the first pivot axis. The stretching bow is connected via a movable coupling mechanism to the roof arch.

Abstract: A motor vehicle has a riif which can be adjusted between an opened and a closed position, and which has a roof skin. A rollover protection element can be moved out from an inoperative position into a protection position. For improved rollover protection, when the roof is in the closed position, the rollover protection element projects over the roof skin in the protection position.
