The matrix includes a structuring agent comprising a filler structuring agent and a polymeric structuring agent. The filler structuring agent comprises about 0.2 % to about 10% and the polymeric structuring agent comprises about 0.5 to about 20% by weight of the composition. The matrix further includes up to about 25% of an anionic soap surfactant, about 10% to about 60% of free fatty acid, and about 1% to about 50% of a non-ionic, but is substantially free from cationic surfactant. When the fabric care article is used up, it simply disappears, indicating to a user that the article needs to be replenished.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device for dispensing a unit dose water-soluble pouch containing a laundry additive during the spin cycle of a washing machine process having a spinning wash drum. The device is attached to the vertical center post of a washing machine and holds a water-soluble pouch above the high water level. During the spin cycle, the spinning center post will create sufficient centrifugal force so that the water-soluble pouch is released from the device. The water-soluble pouch will then fall into the laundry where the water-soluble pouch will dissolve when rinse water fills the machine thereby releasing the laundry additive to treat the washed articles.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a shear thinning, transparent, gel laundry detergent composition, comprising a surfactant system containing surfactant material selected from an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant or a mixture thereof, and from 1 to 8% by weight of a fatty alcohol gelling agent having the formula wherein R1, R2 and R3 are independently selected from hydrogen and saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched C1–C16 alkyl groups, whereby the total number of carbon atoms in the gelling agent is between 8 and 17. It has been found that this gel laundry composition can stable suspend particles or capsules either for improving visual appearance or for practical reasons.
