Abstract: Systems and methods for managing a virtual avatar with migrational ability, and brokering information, are provided. The persistent avatar exists in a plurality of virtual environments and includes attributes generated by an attribute generator, an enabler for enabling virtual environments to access the stored attribute data, and a migrator for allowing the avatar to migrate from one virtual environment to another while the attributes of the persistent avatar remain substantially constant. The enabler utilizes at least one client based on protocol suite. Stored attribute data is modifiable by experiences in any virtual environment. User of the persistent avatar is notified when events occur in any virtual environment, or within real life, by monitoring for events with a monitor, assessing importance of the event with an assessor, and notifying the owner with an informer of the event if it exceeds a threshold of importance.

It may also, in some embodiments, receive external data from data sources. A segmentor may convert characters, represent particles and split dialog. A parser may then apply a link grammar, analyze grammatical mood, tag the dialog and prune dialog variants. A semantic engine may lookup token frames, generate semantic lexicons and semantic networks, and resolve ambiguous co-references. An analytics engine may filter common words from dialog, analyze N-grams, count lemmatized words, and analyze nodes. A pragmatics analyzer may resolve slang, generate knowledge templates, group proper nouns and estimate affect of dialog. A recommender may generate tag clouds, cluster the language sources into neighborhoods, recommend social networking to individuals and businesses, and generate contextual advertising.

Transoms are generated, each with a unique identifier configured to exist in a specific location, and registered with an identity provider. The transom initiates a request. An offer is conveyed that includes the transom identifier, the location and the avatar identifier. The avatar is then authenticated by a shared secret. The identity provider then responds to the offer with avatar identification information, including reputation information. Reputation information is for the avatar and the user, and is compiled from external avatar data sources by using a trust matrix. An avatar gallery is generated by linking each avatar owned by each user to the account and compiling avatar profiles from the account, and the reputation information. The avatar profiles are searchable, and include micro formats.
