  • Publication number: 20210102308
Abstract: A method of adding a feature to a part made of a metal alloy includes wire electric-discharge machining the feature into the part using a wire electrode having a zinc component to create a recast layer. After the step of wire electric-discharge machining the feature, at least some of the recast layer is removed by performing an electrochemical etching process that includes positioning a cathode adjacent the feature and passing current through a portion of the part that contains the feature.

  • Patent number: 10007692
Abstract: Example apparatus and methods detect a query to a partition in a table store that is arranged in a table-entity-property organization. A partition is a collection of entities having the same partition key value. If the query seeks to filter on a specific entity in the partition, then the partition may be copied to a memory (e.g., structured shared cache, shared memory) that is prepared with one or more indexes that facilitate filtering the partition. Example apparatus and methods may copy the partition from the table store into the memory and then filter the partition on the specific field from the memory using the one or more indexes. Filtering the partition on the specific field may proceed in parallel, perhaps massively in parallel, using all the indexes available for the memory.

  • Patent number: 9463108
Abstract: An orthosis for treating muscle disorders of the elbow has a body made in one piece from a semi-rigid material. The body includes a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a back joining strap. In the unstressed state, the relative position of the distal and proximal portions maintains the wrist in an extended state. The joining strap is deformable such that when pressure is exerted downward on the palm support, the joining strap is deformed to enable the pivotal movement of the distal portion with respect to the proximal portion about a transverse articulation axis parallel to the flexion-extension axis of the wrist. When pressure is released, the body returns to the unstressed state due to resilience. The distal portion is arranged to pivot with respect to the proximal portion about the articulation axis while assisting the extensor muscles of the wrist.

  • Publication number: 20150290014
Abstract: An orthosis includes a device for holding the knee cap and arranged to press against the knee by a part consisting of an elastic material surrounding the knee. The holding device includes an annular body having a central oval opening for receiving the knee cap; and separate supporting bodies that protrude outwardly from the periphery of the body. Two adjacent supporting bodies are separated by a gap when the holding device in a non-constrained state. The holding device is substantially flat in the non-constrained state and non-deformable in a plane. The holding device is designed so as to be able to be deformed into a domed position, hugging the shape of the bent knee. In this position, the supporting bodies are butt jointedand the holding device forms a shell enveloping the knee.

  • Publication number: 20140303537
Abstract: The kit for creating a lumbar support belt includes a dorsal element intended to be placed against the lumbar region of an individual, and comprising reinforcing members; a set of strips of elastic textile that can be positioned around the lower part of the trunk of the individual and comprises assembly means able to collaborate removably with complementary assembly means formed on the dorsal element. Each of the strips has a certain number of structural characteristics, with at least one structural characteristic differing from one strip to another within the set of strips. The kit makes it possible to create a lumbar support girdle comprising the dorsal element and a single strip chosen from the set of strips according to the structural characteristic desired.

  • Publication number: 20130303956
Abstract: A lumbar support belt has a dorsal plate, first and second half-belts, and a device for adjusting the pressure exerted by the belt on the dorsolumbar region of the patient. The dorsal plate has lateral extensions including a lower edge shaped to bear against the patient's iliac crests. The device includes first and second tightening straps secured to a distal end of a respective half-belt and received through a respective second free buckle. The first and second tightening straps are intended to be stacked on the lateral extensions of the plate against the patient's lumbar-abdominal region.

  • Patent number: 8220133
Abstract: The invention relates to the attachment of a multiple-conductor electronic cable to an electronic circuit in a sealed housing. The cable is placed in a sheath of a heat-deformable material and the method comprises the following steps: placing a rigid bushing (40) with a protruding collar (48) on the exposed end of the cable, heating the end in a conical mold or softening the sheath, inserting the bushing between the cable conductors and the softened sheath, the collar of the bushing pushing the sheath material until the conical portion of the mold is filled, cooling the sheath for solidifying it, extracting the end of the cable from the mold, the end having a conical portion with an increasing diameter ending with the protruding collar, inserting the cable in the housing opening from the inside before closing the housing. The invention can be used or an intra-oral dental radiology sensor.
