  • Publication number: 20120137846
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and device for cutting materials, such as metals, concrete, wood, plastics or any other type of material, by means of a jet of cryogenic fluid at very high pressure with added abrasive, in particular corundum. Materials can be cut using a disk cutter (concrete, stone, metals, etc.), with a saw (metals, wood, plastics, etc.), by laser beam (metals, plastics, etc.), using a plasma jet (metals), using an ultrahigh pressure (UHP) water jet with or without abrasives (any type of material).

  • Publication number: 20120055173
Abstract: The invention relates to working equipment that uses one or more jets of high-pressure fluid at a cryogenic temperature, including a source (1) of cryogenic fluid connected to a mobile tool (4) including fluid-dispensing nozzles (11) for dispensing jets of high-pressure cryogenic fluid, and first and second protection enclosures arranged about the mobile tool (4) and connected to suction means (25). The plant further comprises gas sealing means (23) suitable for and designed to form at least one gas protection barrier between the two enclosures (20, 23) due to the supply of a dry gas into the second enclosure (23). The invention also relates to a method for implementing same and to the use thereof for the surface treatment, blasting, or peeling of a material using a high-pressure cryogenic fluid.

  • Publication number: 20120031994
Abstract: The invention relates to working equipment, particularly for heat treatment, pickling, or the like, implementing high pressure liquid jets at cryogenic temperatures including a rotary or swinging tool (4) comprising one or more nozzles (11) for dispensing high pressure liquid jets at cryogenic temperatures, and a motor (21) for rotating or swinging the tool (4). The motor (21) is connected to the tool (4) via a rotary transmission shaft (22) and a transmission gearbox (23) containing an internal transmission mechanism, typically with sprockets (24) or belts. The equipment further comprises means (28) for feeding dry gas, such as nitrogen or dry air, in communication with the inside of the transmission gearbox (23) designed for and capable of feeding the inside or said transmission gearbox (23) with dry gas. Said injection of gas into the transmission gearbox (23) prevents the contamination of the inside of the transmission gearbox with atmospheric impurities.

  • Publication number: 20100252686
Abstract: The subject of the invention is a device for driving a pump of a rocket engine of a space vehicle that comprises an air-breathing internal combustion engine running on an oxidizer/fuel mixture of the air/hydrocarbon type, wherein the supply of oxidant and fuel is provided by tanks and a circuit that are separate from the propellant tanks of the rocket engine. The invention applies to a device for fueling a rocket engine that includes at least two pumps, each driven by the device of the invention, and means for controlling the internal combustion engines for driving the pumps, adapted for independently varying the operating parameters of these engines so as to independently adjust the rotation speeds of the pumps.

  • Patent number: 6207596
Abstract: A disposable wipe which comprises a substrate, an antimicrobial protease inhibitor, and a liquid. The antimicrobial protease inhibitor may be added directly to the substrate and/or added directly to the liquid. The antimicrobial protease inhibitor is capable of inhibiting deleterious fecal microorganisms and protease enzymes thereby aiding in the prevention of diaper dermatitis. The wipe may optionally include other ingredients examples of which include humectants, emollients, surfactants, fragrances, emulsifiers, and preservatives.
