  • Patent number: 11132756
Abstract: A method for registering an Internet of Things (IoT) device to an incident IoT ledger system is provided. A computer aided dispatch (CAD) device sends a first ledger request including an incident record to a distributed incident ledger operated by validation nodes. The CAD device receives a first ledger response indicating that the incident record was accepted and added into the incident ledger after being validated by the nodes. The CAD device then sends a second ledger request to an IoT distributed ledger operated by second validation nodes. The request includes a query to the IoT distributed ledger to find registered IoT devices for affiliating with the incident. The CAD device receives a second ledger response including information identifying registered IoT devices from the IoT distributed ledger. The CAD device then sends an affiliation invitation to an IoT device determined from the registered IoT devices identified in the second ledger response.

  • Patent number: 11115369
Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting near real-time geographic mass messaging requests. One example method includes receiving a geographic mass messaging request via a transceiver, the geographic mass messaging request including a message, a geographic reference, and a requesting agency identifier, and having at least one request characteristic. The method includes assigning, with an electronic processor, a priority to the geographic mass messaging request based on an electronically stored alerting authority policy and at least one selected from the group consisting of the requesting agency identifier, the geographic reference, and the at least one request characteristic. The method includes, responsive to determining that the priority does not meet a priority threshold, transmitting one of a request denied message and a request modification proposal via the transceiver to the requesting agency.

  • Publication number: 20210200826
Abstract: Apparatus and method for appearance search for incident response. One embodiment provides a method for appearance searching for incident response. The method includes receiving a search criteria at a command server and initiating an appearance search based on the search criteria. The appearance search is performed on a plurality of responding devices communicatively connected to the command server. The method further includes receiving, at the command server, an update to the search criteria and determining, using the command server, a confidence level of the update based on weights assigned to each a plurality of parameters of the update. The method also includes creating, using the command server, an updated search criteria based on the search criteria and the update when the confidence level of the update exceeds a predetermined confidence threshold and pushing the updated search criteria for the appearance search to the plurality of responding devices.

  • Publication number: 20200402193
Abstract: A computer apparatus, such as a validator node, for validating incident-related data records in a distributed electronic ledger is configured to receive a request from an agent to add a proposed incident-related data record associated with an incident to the distributed electronic ledger. In response to the proposed incident-related data record, the computer apparatus determines, from the distributed electronic ledger, one or more attributes of the agent or incident. The computer apparatus determines whether the proposed incident-related data record satisfies validation criteria based at least partially on the one or more attributes of the agent or incident. Once validated, the computer apparatus may then append the proposed incident-related data record to the distributed electronic ledger. Alternatively, the proposed incident-related data record may be appended regardless of validity, but an indication of validity may be appended if the proposed incident-related data record is validated.

  • Publication number: 20200196125
Abstract: A method and update server provide periodic updates to citizens in an update group. The update server receives incident information relating to an incident. The incident information is stored by the update server. The update server determines a narrative for the incident information by redacting any sensitive or confidential information to produce a redacted incident report. The update server also determines a cadence related to the incident, which is the frequency of how often the information will be sent to the update group. At the appropriate time, the update server sends the redacted incident report to the update group.

  • Publication number: 20200134760
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and apparatus allow for weighted voting in a public safety distributed ledger. A first node operating in a distributed ledger network receives an incident data record of one or more other nodes to maintain a distributed ledger. The first node reviews the incident data record to determine a vote. The vote indicates whether the incident data record should be entered into the distributed ledger. The vote is sent to a second node operating in the distributed ledger network. Votes are received from the one or more other nodes, and weights are determined for each node operating in the distributed ledger network node. A weighted vote result is calculated utilizing the votes and the weights. The distributed ledger is updated with the incident data record when the weighted vote result is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20190295404
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting that a stun gun has been deployed is provided herein. During operation a periodic nature of a stun-gun voltage will be utilized to determine if the stun-gun has been fired. More specifically, an electric/magnetic field (EMF) and/or a sound will be analyzed to determine if the periodic nature of the EMF and/or sound matches that of a stun gun. If so, a command center will be notified of the event. In order to increase the accuracy of any stun-gun detect, a gun-draw sensor may be used in combination with the above technique.
