  • Publication number: 20090225001
Abstract: In one embodiment, a hybrid display system includes a dome in which a system user may enter, the dome including an inner surface, a projector configured to project a background image on the dome inner surface that the user can view, and a head-mounted display (HMD) that the user can wear, the HMD being configured to display an insert image to the user simultaneous to the projection of the background image so that the user can view a hybrid image comprising both the background image of the dome and the insert image of the HMD.

  • Publication number: 20080266323
Abstract: An augmented reality user interaction system includes a wearable computer equipped with at least one camera to detect one or more fiducial markers worn by a user. A user-mounted visual display worn by the user is employed to display visual 3D information. The computer detects in an image a fiducial marker worn by the user, extracts a position and orientation of the fiducial marker in the image, and superimposes on the image a visual representation of a user interface component directly on or near the user based on the position and orientation.

  • Publication number: 20070035563
Abstract: A method of operation for use with an augmented reality spatial interaction and navigational system includes receiving initialization information, including a target location corresponding to a point of interest in space, and a source location corresponding to a spatially enabled display. It further includes computing a curve in a screen space of the spatially enabled display between the source location and the target location, and placing a set of patterns along the curve, including illustrating the patterns in the screen space.

  • Publication number: 20050083248
Abstract: Image processing procedures include receiving at least two side view images of a face of a user. In other aspects, side view images are warped and blended into an output image of a face of a user as if viewed from a virtual point of view. In further aspects, a virtual video is produced in real time of output images from a video feed of side view images.

  • Patent number: 6774869
Abstract: A teleportal system which provides remote communication between at least two users. A projective display and video capture system provides video images to the users. The video system obtains and transmits 3D images which are stereoscopic to remote users. The projective display unit provides an augmented reality environment to each user and allows users to view, unobstructed, the other local users, and view a local site in which they are located. A screen transmits to the user the images generated by the projective display via a retro-reflective fabric upon which images are projected and reflected back to the user's eyes.
