A node in the IP Multimedia Subsystem network receives a Session Initiation Protocol message from a remote node. The node can then apply a security policy to the message, the security policy being determined by the indicator.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring a session from a packet switched access network to a circuit switched access network. A Mobility Management Entity receives a service type indicator from a gateway node. The service type indicator indicates a type of service for the session, and is associated with bearers used for the session. The Mobility Management Entity subsequently receives, from an eNodeB, an indication that the session is to be transferred from the packet switched network to the circuit switched access network. The Mobility Management Entity determines the bearers associated with the session using the service type indicator, and initiates transfer of the session using those bearers. This ensures that the correct bearers are transferred regardless of whether or not identifiers such as QCI values have been ascribed to other types of service.

The SIP INVITE includes an identity of the UE as a called party identity and the STN as the calling party identity. The Transfer includes sending from the MSC to the UE a CS Setup message, whereupon the MSC is placed in a state in which it expects a CS Answer from the UE.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatus are described for controlling set up of a terminating call from an IMS to a UE, in a Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) situation. A first MSC receives a terminating call from IMS and tries to page the UE. The UE has moved to the second MSC and performs a Location Update to the second MSC. The second MSC informs the first MSC with a Send Identification message comprising an address of the second MSC. The first MSC maintains the IMS subscription of the UE at Cancel Location and forwards the terminating call to the second MSC. The first MSC acts as relay for subsequent call control messages for calls of the UE. The first and second MSCs are supervising the ongoing calls and as soon as all calls are completed the second MSC registers the UE into IMS and the first MSC de-registers the UE from IMS.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for key management in a communication network. A Key Management Server (KMS) receives from a first device a request for a token associated with a user identity, the user identity being associated with a second device. The KMS then sends the requested token and a user key associated with the user to the first device. The KMS subsequently receives the token from the second device. A second device key is generated using the user key and a modifying parameter associated with the second device. The modifying parameter is available to the first device for generating the second device key. The second device key is then sent from the KMS to the second device. The second device key can be used by the second device to authenticate itself to the first device, or for the first device to secure communications to the second device.

    Abstract: A method performs a Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SRVCC) Packet Switched (PS) to Circuit Switched (CS) handover of an emergency call that is routed over an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network. The call is transferred from a first region served by a first Mobility Management Entity (MME) to a second region served by a second MME. The method includes sending a first handover request from the first MME to the second MME to transfer the call. The first handover request includes an Emergency Session Transfer Number for SRVCC (E-STN-SR) identifying an Emergency Access Transfer Function (EATF) in the first region. A second handover request for handover to a CS access is sent to a target Mobile Switching Centre, MSC, and includes the E-STN-SR. The call is handed over to the CS access using the E-STN-SR to route the call via the EATF in the first region.

First and second session keys are, thereafter, used for secure communication.     Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling emergency signalling in an IP Multimedia Subsystem network. A Proxy-Call Session Control Function receives a message requesting set up of a session. The message is associated with an IP Multimedia Private Identity. The P-CSCF determines that the message relates to an emergency call. If an emergency override tag associated with the IMPI is provisioned or set at the P-CSCF, then the message is forwarding the SIP message to a Serving-Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) for further handling. However, if an emergency override tag associated with the IMPI is not provisioned or set at the P-CSCF, the message is forwarded to an Emergency-Call Session Control Function (E-CSCF). The invention allows the P-CSCF to exercise control over the handling of emergency signalling.
