Abstract: The invention proposes a novel device for processing orders for supplying orthodontic bands having orthodontic functional parts fitted as specified in the orders, comprising: a computer unit having a memory for managing basic data for the unequipped orthodontic bands, basic data for the functional parts that are to be welded on, and data for the bands equipped with one or more functional parts specifically as well as graphics data sets allocated to the unequipped and equipped bands and to the functional parts; an input device for inputting the data for an order for a band having a functional part fitted as specified in the order or functional parts fitted as specified in the order; and a printer unit for printing out an order acknowledgement and for printing labels with order data and a graphical representation of the band equipped as specified in the order.

Abstract: Expansion screw for tooth adjustment having two expansion screw body members each embeddable in a plastic palate plate, these body members being provided with retention grooves for anchoring in the plastic of these palate plates, also having a threaded spindle and two guide pins, wherein the threaded spindle has spindle sections with opposite threads on either side of a central section, these spindle sections engaging in corresponding threaded bores of the expansion screw body members, and wherein the latter have guide openings for the passage of the guide pins extending parallel to the threaded spindle.

Abstract: An improved method is proposed for releasing brackets from bonded joints whereby also ceramic brackets can be removed. Herein, the layer of bonding agent is subjected to pulse-shaped heat input by transfer of heat from an instrument to the bracket, with a safety device allowing only a suitable amount of heat for the respective type of bracket to be transferred.

Abstract: An orthodontic wire support identification member for attachment to an orthodontic wire support having an attachment base incorporating a body in which at least one wire accomodating channel is provided, in which said identification member is releasably attached to the body for removal after the wire support is mounted on a tooth so that the member facilitates identification of different types of wire supporting brackets, the identification member being constructed to cover the channel when in position on said body.
