  • Patent number: 7492434
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a LCD panel and a flexible wiring member coupled together by an anisotropic-conductive adhesive film (ACF). The ACF includes insulating resin and a plurality of conductive particles dispersed therein and each having an insulating film on a conductive body. The insulating film is broken by the thermal compression of the ACF during manufacture of the LCD device, thereby allowing terminals of the LCD panel and terminals of the flexible wiring member to be electrically coupled together.

  • Patent number: 5895971
Abstract: An adhesive compound layer bonds the reverse surface of a semiconductor chip to a major surface of a substrate, and a restoring compound layer is formed on a top surface of the semiconductor chip; the adhesive compound layer and the restoring compound layer exert a first force on the reverse surface and a second force on the top surface due to shrinkage during a thermosetting so that a first moment due to the first force is reduced or canceled by a second moment due to the second force, thereby preventing the semiconductor chip from undesirable warp.

  • Patent number: 5818561
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) having a liquid crystal (LC) panel including a glass substrate, and an IC (Integrated Circuit) chip having input connection terminals and output connection terminals and mounted on the glass substrate. The output connection terminals are connected to an output conductive pattern formed on the glass substrate. The input connection terminals are connected to a connection substrate. The LCD therefore does not need an input conductive pattern customarily formed on the glass substrate. This insures the feed of signals to the IC chip and reduces the frame area of the glass substrate.

  • Patent number: 5726726
Abstract: A COG (Chip On Glass) type liquid crystal display (LCD) and a method of producing the same are disclosed. A semiconductor device is mounted on a glass substrate or LCD panel by a COG scheme. The semiconductor device has output connection terminals connected to an output conductive pattern formed on the glass substrate. Also, the semiconductor device has input connection terminals connected to a metal wiring included in a flexible printed circuit. This allows an input signal to be fed to the semiconductor device without resorting to an input conductive pattern customarily formed on the the glass substrate.
