  • Patent number: 7296270
Abstract: A method and a control unit for controlling technical procedures, particularly in a motor vehicle. In the method, a control program of a computing element, particularly a microprocessor, is processed. The control program is subdivided into several tasks and each task is subdivided into several processes. The tasks are processed in a cooperative mode or in a preemptive mode. After the processing of the control program, in order to make possible a simulation as close to reality as possible, particularly an offline open loop simulation, it is proposed that the process sequence be stored during the processing of the control program. Preferably, before the processing of the control program, a unique identifier is assigned to each process, and, during the processing of the control program, only the identifier of the processed process most recently processed before the beginning of a finished task is stored.

  • Patent number: 6584396
Abstract: In a method for determining the lateral acceleration of a motor vehicle, the lateral acceleration is calculated from signals of a wheel sensor and a load sensor. Since in many cases these sensors are already present on the vehicle, e.g., for chassis control, additional sensors are not necessary. The values for the lateral acceleration thus ascertained may then be used in further devices, such as for a vehicle dynamics controller or a device for preventing tipping. For example, usable as a load sensor in the case of a pneumatic suspension is also a pressure sensor which measures the pressure within the pressure bellows of the pneumatic suspension and supplies a signal, corresponding to the mass or the axle load, to the control. The lateral acceleration may be determined with the aid of a steering-angle sensor.

  • Patent number: 6494281
Abstract: A method of stabilizing a motor vehicle, preferably to prevent a vehicle from rolling over about a vehicle axis oriented in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. To do so, a quantity describing the transverse dynamics of the vehicle is determined. This quantity is compared with at least one characteristic value, in particular a threshold value, for this quantity. For the case when the quantity describing the transverse dynamics of the vehicle is greater than or equal to the characteristic value, a speed of the vehicle is reduced to or maintained at a preselectable speed value at least by braking measures on at least one wheel and/or by engine measures and/or by retarder measures (SR).
