Photosensitizers themselves or the photosensitizers-carriers conjugates are useful compounds either for treatment of various infectious diseases, the in vivo eradication of micro-organisms as well as diseases characterized by cellular hyperproliferation, in particular tumours psoriasis, actinic keratosis, atheromas, endoarterial hyperplasia and prostate hyperplasia. The above compounds can be also useful for blood and blood derivatives sterilization and in vivo/vitro diagnostics.
