  • Publication number: 20090242665
Abstract: An injector (22) for use with a misting system (20) includes a main body (30) and a converging-diverging nozzle (58) positioned within a channel (54) of the main body (30). A composition (50) is placed in a mixing chamber (38) integrally formed with the main body (30). A portion (86) of water (56) flowing through channel (54) of the main body (30) is diverted through a conduit (74) and into an upper end (82) of the mixing chamber (38). The water (56) turbulently mixes with the composition (50) to form a mixture (88) of the composition (50) and water (56). This mixture (88) is siphoned from a lower end (70) of the mixing chamber (38) through a fluid port (62) and into nozzle (58), where it is subsequently discharged from the injector (22).

  • Patent number: 7334743
Abstract: A fog generating system (20) includes a fluid feed conduit (22) and extension tube assemblies (26) spaced along the conduit (22). The assemblies (26) include nozzle fittings (40) coupled to extension tubes (32). Misting nozzles (44) are releasably engaged with the nozzle fittings (40), and are recessed within the nozzle fittings (40). Installation entails arranging the system (20) on an interior side of an installation form (90), and securing the nozzle fittings (40) using fitting plugs (50) so that an open ends (60) of the nozzle fittings (40) abut the form (90). The fitting plugs (50) further form a fluid resistant seal for maintaining the assemblies (26) under fluid pressure during installation. The system (20) is embedded in a concrete material (124) for the structure (120). Following removal of the installation form (90) and the fitting plugs (50), the misting nozzles (44) are installed within the nozzle fittings (40).

  • Patent number: 6592053
Abstract: An evaporative cooling unit that sprays a water mist into the air to cool the air by evaporation of the water mist is disguised as to its function and purpose by including the misting nozzles and water supply conduits in a decorative structure, such as an artificial flower arrangement or plant. The misting unit of the invention includes a base and a decorative structure extending from the base. A water conduit extends through the base from a base end with a fitting for attachment to a source of pressurized water such as a garden hose, into the decorative structure where it ends in at least one decorative structure end with a misting nozzle thereon. The base may take the form of a flower pot with the decorative structure taking the form of flowers or a plant extending from the flower pot.

  • Patent number: 5441202
Abstract: A misting system including a locking T coupler with an elongated tubular body having a first end defining an axially extending chamber therein with sidewalls that taper radially outwardly from adjacent the first end toward the center of the body. A tubular ferrule is designed to axially nest within the first end of the body with a first end of the ferrule positioned in the chamber for receiving a supply tube coaxially in a second end thereof. The first end of the ferrule further including axially extending fingers with radially outwardly extending portions positioned to engage the tapered sidewalls of the chamber and force the fingers radially inwardly into a tube gripping position as the ferrule is partially withdrawn from the body so as to tightly grip a supply tube positioned therein and prevent the withdrawal of the supply tube from the ferrule.
