  • Publication number: 20230100701
Abstract: A method and device for protecting and installing a fire protection sprinkler assembly having a thermally responsive trigger. The method includes shielding and torquing a fire protection sprinkler with a protective device having a torque assist feature. The protective device includes a first member and a second member opposed and spaced about a plane to define an internal void and a lateral slot for strapping about the sprinkler. The torque assist feature includes a first confronting segment of the first member and a second confronting segment of the second member. The first and second confronting segments are disposed on opposite sides of the plane and spaced apart laterally about the device axis. Each of the first and second confronting segments define an internal surface of the device that form a contact surface engagement with one arm in the pair of frame arms to transfer a torque or rotational force to the sprinkler.

  • Patent number: 11577108
Abstract: An automatic fire protection sprinkler assembly for fire protection systems that includes a tubular outer housing having an inlet, an outlet opening and an internal shelf proximate the outlet opening. A fluid deflection member is spaced from the outlet opening along a fluid flow path of the assembly. A fluid control assembly is disposed within the outer housing for axial translation from an unactuated state to an actuated state of the sprinkler assembly. The fluid control assembly includes a seal subassembly, a fluid flow tube; and an ejectable support subassembly. The support subassembly includes a projection member. Upon actuation of a thermally responsive trigger, the support subassembly is ejected out the outlet opening such that the projection member comes into contact with the internal shelf of the housing to pivot the support subassembly out of the fluid flow path.

  • Publication number: 20230033818
Abstract: Edge function-guided artificial intelligence (AI) request routing is provided by applying a machine learning model to predictors of cloud endpoint hydration to determine hydration levels of cloud endpoints, of a hybrid cloud environment, that provide AI processing, determining, for each edge component of a plurality of edge components of the hybrid cloud environment and each cloud endpoint of the cloud endpoints, alternative flow paths between the edge component and the cloud endpoint, the alternative flow paths being differing routes for routing data between the edge component and the cloud endpoint, and the alternative flow paths being of varying flow rates determined based on the hydration levels of the cloud endpoints, and dynamically deploying edge functions on edge component(s), the edge functions configuring the edge component(s) to alternate among the alternative flow paths available in routing AI processing requests from the edge component(s) to target cloud endpoints of the cloud endpoints.

  • Publication number: 20230008450
Abstract: A tire defect detection system for detecting defects in a tire. The system includes at least one infrared camera, a pneumatic source and a computing device. The pneumatic source inflates the tire to a predetermined pressure. After inflation, the infrared camera captures a reference frame of a section of the tire. A period of time after capturing the reference frame, the infrared camera captures a subsequent frame. The subsequent frame is compared to the reference frame to detect a portion of the section of the tire that has a lower temperature. The lower temperature is caused by an escape of air from the tire through a defect. The escaping air cools the area of the tire around the defect, so a decrease in temperature indicates the defect.

  • Patent number: 11514314
Abstract: An approach for altering alter training data and training process associated with a neural network to emulate environmental noise and operational instrument error by using the concepts of shots to sample within a squeezed space model, wherein shots are an uncertainty index that is the average of all shots from a sampling, is disclosed. The approach leverages a squeeze theorem to create a squeezed space model based on the regression of the upper and lower bound associated with the environmental noise and instrument error. The approach calculates an average noise index based on the squeezed space model, wherein the index is used to alter the training data and process.

  • Patent number: 11506197
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling downhole linear motors to minimize connections to surface equipment. In one embodiment, an ESP system is coupled by a power cable to equipment at the surface of a well. The ESP system includes a linear motor and a reciprocating pump. The motor has a set of position sensors that sense the position of a mover in the motor. Combining circuitry (E.G., XOR gate) combines the outputs of the position sensors into a single composite signal in which signal components corresponding to the position sensors are indistinguishable. A single channel carries the composite signal from the ESP system to the surface equipment. A control system determines a starting position of the motor and determines its subsequent position based on transitions in the composite signal. The motor is then operated based on the position determined from the composite signal.
